The Shambhala Khaolak Resort

We were looking for a place in Khao Lak and came over this place by chance. It really was a hidden gem! Located on a beautiful sandy beach and with front seats to the sunset in palm-paradise. Never could we have found a better place to stay in Khao Lak!! It was small and private, compared to the other bigger resorts with a lot of people along the beach (we walked a lot along the beach and couldn't find a more cozy and nice place than this). The pool and rooms where clean, the staff was totally amazing, and the view from the pool was breathtaking. If I come back to Khao Lak, I would only stay here.

Second time staying at this family run hotel!! I am glad we did. We planned to chill out here before going to Phuket and Bangkok. It really didn't disappoint. The beautiful scenery and the laid back atmosphere made us feel totally relaxed and feel like home. We loved the family who run the hotel and enjoyed our chit chat at dining tables. They are always friendly and helpful if you need anything. I highly recommend this hotel.

Cosy little hotel with a family sense over the atmosphere..Nice little pool with sunchairs always available. Breakfast is ordered, as much as you want..You can ask for anything, staff is always helpful. Shame about Bang Niang beach which is destroyed by concrete lying on the beach. Hopefully they will remove it which isn’t a huge job.

Petit écrin de verdure et de calme, vraiment au bord de la mer. Vue à 180 degrés magnifique, beaucoup d arbres. Piscine suffisante et agréable, de la place autour, petit dej sur commande et franchement varié compte tenu de la taille de l hôtel, chambres sobres mais spacieuses, correctement équipées (nous avions un bungalow jardin), literie vraiment très ferme (mais c est un détail). Hôtel à 15 minutes à pied du centre, balade agréable, possibilité de se garer, bref, un super petit endroit tranquille, en particulier pour les couples (peut-être moins adapté aux familles…)

Ik wil graag mijn recente verblijf in Shambhala, Khao Lak, Thailand van 1 tot 13 februari delen. Ik ben al tien jaar een regelmatige gast in dit resort en ik moet zeggen dat het nog steeds een fantastische plek is om te verblijven. Het resort wordt gerund door de zorgzame familie Hong, die ervoor zorgt dat je je meteen thuis voelt. Het resort zelf is kleinschalig en direct aan zee gelegen gelegen, in een rustig gedeelte van Khao Lak. De kamers zijn eenvoudig maar comfortabel ingericht en worden dagelijks goed schoongemaakt. Er zijn verschillende soorten kamers beschikbaar, waaronder seafront, garden en hotel rooms, dus er is voor ieder wat wils. Wat het verblijf in Shambhala zo bijzonder maakt, is de vriendelijkheid en servicegerichtheid van de familie Hong. Ze zijn altijd bereid om te helpen en doen er alles aan om ervoor te zorgen dat je een geweldige tijd hebt. De tropische tuin met uitzicht op zee is de perfecte plek om te genieten van de maaltijden. Het ontbijt, de lunch en het diner zijn allemaal heerlijk en worden geserveerd met uitzicht op de zee. Het resort beschikt ook over een prima zwembad ( infinity pool)waar je kunt ontspannen en genieten van de zon. Maar het is echt de zorgzaamheid en aandacht van de familie Hong die het verblijf zo bijzonder maakt. Ondanks de uitdagingen die de coronapandemie met zich meebracht, was ons verblijf weer fantastisch. Shambhala is gelegen in een rustig gedeelte van Khao Lak, maar het centrum is goed bereikbaar met een taxi. Alternatief brommer of fiets huren Kortom, als je op zoek bent naar een ontspannen en gastvrij resort in Khao Lak, dan kan ik Shambhala van harte aanbevelen. Ik kom zeker terug!
