TUI BLUE Playa Feliz

This was our second stay at Playa Feliz, since going with our son (they 2) in 2018. Now a family of 4, the hotel and location offered a much needed ease and familiarity where we could just instantly relax and unwind together. Weather was fab, a few cloudy days but warm and most pools never too cold for a dip. The only one not used was the kids one with the slides at the Orqueida - this was by far the coldest! The largest at O-side was warm bath temp (lovely!) and the one at Playa Feliz just right. Pools, big thumbs up, always clean. Could also always get at least 2 beds, however we were out by 9 most mornings with the kids. Only used the pool towel card once on our last day, as bought our own - but these were clean and a good service from what we experienced. We were self catering so didn’t meet many staff, but those we did were always friendly, smiling and helpful. Particular thanks to Walid at the Playa Feliz Theas - keeping us topped up with delicious smoothies, coffee selection, mojitos and beer. The entertainment staff work tirelessly day to night and are very talented themselves, putting on much of the evening entertainment which we found to be a good selection and kept all entertained, however we only stayed for a couple of the latest shows, as our 3 year old demanded bed by 8.30 most nights. We used the TUI blue app for childcare and restaurant bookings, plus to view what was on each day around the complex - very easy to use and we will do so again in future. The kids got involved in to much more having the itinerary at our fingertips was really a game changer. Captain T was a hit, as always. The bits that lost a star - 1) Don’t book trips via TUI - use the bus service just outside and book online via get your guide/direct if you can. Save a lot! 2) Rooms are not hoovered, only swept. This would not be a problem if swept properly, but we arrived to other people’s hair on the floors, and left to the same. I was caught sweeping up myself by the maid one day, who insisted she take over when she arrived - only to sweep all the dirt and hair out onto the outside area. No wonder there are tumbleweeds of human hair floating around the accommodation gardens… they really need to hoover as the bits just get swept around otherwise. 3) Ants - I’m not sure if this is a climate thing but we experienced ants in the accommodation both visits. Not enough to put in a complaint, but a few times we caught the start of a trail starting through a crack in the foundations and it could have easily turned into a problem if we had not kept on top of it. We also came home to flying ants on a couple of days inside in numbers. 4) Cockroaches - maybe a normal climate thing but worth mentioning we saw several cockroaches at night scuttling around the accommodation gardens. We also had one in the bathroom one night. 5) Our accommodation was number 89 Playa Feliz. Great location. Quiet and among others that look privately owned with lovely gardens. T

We had a fabulous weeks break at the Playa Feliz. Hotel was clean, room was lovely. The bar staff at the pool bar especially one, really made it, very friendly, great with the kids and so friendly. The waiter staff in the Playa feliz restaurant were just fab. They doted on my little boy and really helped in situations where he was becoming unsettled or restless - the chef was amazing! made him a lovely dinosaur out of fruit and vegetables which he was just a amazed at. Kids club’ staff were fantastic. My youngest was a little worried to begin with but by day 3, he loved it (he’s even asked to go now, when at home!). Our 7 year old LOVED the hotel, kids club, the slides, everything & made a friend while we were away. Entertainment team were outstanding, we’ve done TUI blues before but the entertainment stood out here - they really work so hard and deserve a huge pay rise! As we were leaving, one lady (I have forgotten here name, forgive me!) came over for a chat on her day off, hugged me and waved us off, just unmatched customer interaction. Bamse & Captain T came round often and this made our little boys holiday. The hotels location was lovely. Seafront, rather than beachfront. We were lucky to have a room next to the pool and we sat at night listening to the ocean. Food was slightly not to our taste but we always found something to eat. I really cannot fault it. Will return.

Complex is well kept. Apts are cleaned daily . Towels replaced daily. Bed linen changed weekly. Large pool plenty of loungers. Bus stop outside complex to North and South. Nice restaurants nearby. Can use amenities at nearby hotel. No entertainment or drinks in complex at night. People go to Plaza nearby or hotel. Pool towels available. Beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly and maintain complex to a high standard. Spar nearby have a good supermarket and Deli.
