The Waters

Rob and Lena were amazing hosts. They provided fantastic recommendations and hospitality. Staying at The Waters was the highlight of our honeymoon and if we didn’t live so far away we would definitely come back. The location is unbeatable: you get the best of Mapua Motueka and Nelson all in one convenient drive.

The Waters has much going for it. The location - stunning with the beach so close to the suite. The host - Rob and his family are delightful, warm, relaxed and welcoming. The grounds - wonderful olive groves. However, the suites would benefit from being updated, they are basic in many respects especially when you consider the price. We’ve stayed at better places on our travels in New Zealand. There are no cooking facilities and whilst the suite is described as having a small kitchen, that really is a stretch of the imagination. My average score is a reflection of both the condition and price of the suites.

This was an idyllic retreat in a gorgeous setting. The suite was clean and beautiful, the bed was very comfortable, and the views in every direction were spectacular! Rob was an awesome host, tending to our every need and making sure we had a fantastic stay here. On our first morning we were scheduled for an early morning kayak tour at Abel Tasman Park and our rental car battery was dead. Rob brought out jumper cables to start our car, and even called the park to tell them we would be a little late. This kindness was above and beyond what we would ever expect from a BnB host, and showed how much he truly cares about his guests experience. Our stay at the Waters was one of the best parts of our whole NZ trip. Thank you, Rob and Lena!

Rob and his daughter Luna were the nicest hosts. We met his youngest daughter Willow and their puppy as well. Luna brought us a breakfast plate each evening that was delicious. Fresh eggs, juice, bread and cheeses. Local beer in the refrigerator when we returned from the day’s adventures. Very special people indeed. The views from our unit were incredible. The Tasman Sea to the east and a beautiful pond out our bedroom balcony. Top notch B&B Highly recommend. Great way to end our kiwi journey.

Our family of three adults from the US had an amazing few days at The Waters. Rob and his family are AMAZING hosts. And the communication before, during and after our stay was superb. The facility and grounds were perfect - Spotlessly clean and every detail provided.

The Waters was a delight and the perfect way to start our NZ adventure. It is comfortable, clean, and quiet with beautiful views and convenient access to the beach, Abel Tasman park and local restaurants. Rob and his family were wonderful hosts, attentive and helpful. The in-room breakfast offerings were plentiful, convenient and tasty. Highly recommend!
