The Hacienda is a beautiful place in a beautiful setting. I was there with my daughter for 4 nights. Alas, the staff did not make us feel welcome. They took exception to the fact that my daughter's boyfriend, who resided in an AirBnB nearby, came by to visit us in the yard. One staffer inquirer repeatedly who he was and whether he was a resident of the hotel. We informed her that he was not. Yet, she took it upon herself to follow us across the the street into the parking lot to inquire again. Our friend stayed for less than an hour with us poolside. If this violated "hotel policy," he was happy to leave. Instead, the staffer and another person, perhaps her superior, tracked me down in the spa area and informed me that the "damage" of third-person usage was already done and they charged me 90 Euros against the deposit. They ignored my point that I was unaware of this policy (and this rather outrageous charge) and my offer to leave. They insisted to take the money. Behind my back, the staffer said to her superior, "increíble," loud enough so I could hear it. This is not hospitality, but ruthlessness - an insult to the client whose goodwill one would - presumably - want to cultivate. I should also note that my daughter's boyfriend is a man of color, and the surveillance behavior and the palpable hostility we were subjected to was not lost on me. I cannot, therefore, recommend this place in good conscience.
