Bob & Maxines Backpackers

Love love this place. Been back and back again. It's like backpackers from the old days - warm, cosy, friendly and with everything a traveller and tramper needs. Quiet location with bikes to get to and from town, easy access to the Milford Road, an array of comfy couches, perfect kitchen set up, washing machine and dryer, space to hang out with others or relax on your own, comfy clean beds, towels, Ilamas to feed, fruit, fire box for winter. And generous hosts with a sense of humour and always there for a chat and sound advice. Cool and interesting travellers of all ages and all countries too. I'll be back, if only to visit Bob and Maxine who already feel like friends!

This backpackers is on the edge of town , but Bob in his kindness supplies push bikes free of charge to use whenever . This really is a wonderful place to stay with excellent facilities, a big kitchen and lounge area , good showers , and all lovely and clean . It was such a relaxing place to stay , with people of all age groups passing through . I’m in my 50’s travelling alone , and felt so completely at ease as many people were the same with also many youngsters passing through . Bob and Maxine you were superb hosts , and I just love your enthusiasm and energy . Thank you so much . Kind regards Ian .
