Vista Waikoloa by South Kohala Management

The good: 1) Ocean view from the lanai about 2 blocks away through the palm trees. Didn't miss coffee in the morning a sunset over the water at night. 2) Larger-size 2 bed 2 1/2 bath unit. Two lanais including one outside the master bedroom. 3) Master bath and second bath have a luxury feeling with stonework. 4) Staff was easy to work with. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Instructions were straightforward. 5) Lots of gas grills for your barbecuing pleasure The bad: 1) Just below the lanai is the road. Not a lot of traffic, but if that kind of thing bothers you, you might want to keep looking. A/C knocks out the noise inside. 2) Each toilet comes with a plunger. You will need them. 3) Furnishings are super-basic and more than a bit worn. OK for a short stay, but you will notice it after a while. 4) TV's are about 20 inches. You don't want to be here during the Super Bowl.

Professional staff, great location, reasonable rates. The development is great, with a fantastic pool. You can walk to the beach, or it's a very short drive with free public parking at the beach. Our particular unit had dated furniture, but it was also very reasonably priced. We were on the side facing the golf course, with a beautiful sunrise. We didn't see many golfers so it felt very private. Owners of other units were friendly.

We have stayed before in this resort so we were very familiar with its location and layout. Our unit, E203, upon entry we were impressed. Nice layout, nice kitchen, big living room and updated bathroom. This unit also supplied snorkeling equipment and chairs. The nightmare began when we went to bed that night. When I rented the unit I knew the bed in the master was Q/S. The real problem was the old soft and lumpy mattress, With all the updates, they should have invested in at least a memory foam mattress. The same for the twins in the 2nd bedroom. Every time I moved. I woke my wife. Would not rent again until this is changed.

Management will downgrade your room if it serves what they want to do for other higher-paying guests. Stay elsewhere.

The condo is wonderful and it is in a great area! It is safe to walk around, people are friendly and the office staff is terrific! The condo is a place that makes you feel like you’re at home. I would LOVE for it to be my place if I lived in Hawaii!!!

Well maintained, closer to multiple beaches. Very clean and well furnished.

If you want a carefree vacation without feeling that you need to repair or fix house problems stay away from Unit 205B in Vista Waikoloa. The lamp in the 2nd bedroom has a shortage that is actually dangerous, especially if you have young children, they is a hold around the outlet. The toilet won't flush, you have to plunge after every use, which can be quite messy. The beds, a full and twin are not stable, don't make a sudden move to sit on them because you might end up on the floor. The twin bed is directly in front of the closet, which makes it hard to get to the closet. So, if you want just place to sleep and shower, you might like this place, if you can put up with ant traps everywhere. The furniture is uncomfortable and dated and it make you feel as if something will crawl out of it. The kitchen is the nicest place in the unit, but the countertop is so wide that one can hardly reach the outlet to plug in the appliances. Simple put, I would not rent again for the price charged.
