Stayed in spacious four-bed dorm with large locker with two shelves and large space with clothing rail to hang coats and put bag/suitcase. Key entry to room and need padlock for locker. Bed had charging plug, light and bedside table. Reception/staff very helpful and informative - especially Marta. Seemed genuinely interested in your day and provided a wealth of recommendations/information for making the most of your stay in Trieste. Have a communal kitchen where breakfast is served, which is a good place to meet people. Breakfast is included with toast, conserves, ham, cheese, cereal, yoghurt and biscuits. Showers and toilets are separate but close to the room. Male bathroom has three cubicles – shower/toilet, shower only and toilet only. Two communal basins. Soap included, but not body wash. Have a large communal area, tables with plug sockets plus sofas and a small bar. Located in square near restaurants and opposite boat port for Muggia. Around a 20-minute walk from the train station. One thing to note is the hostel is up quite a few flights of stairs and there is no lift available. Would stay again.

This hostel is amazing. We stayed there for two nights and had a wonderful time. It’s very close to lots of bars and restaurants and you can see the harbor out of some of the rooms. The kitchen facilities are spacious and very clean. And the included breakfast was great. All of the people staying at the hostel were wonderful. Trieste is a great city and this is a great place to stay. The hostel was also very close to public transit (bus) stops so it’s easy to get around if you want to venture out. Definitely note that there is no lift and the hostel is a couple floors up, so pack light! The hostel was also pretty hot and humid, I think they could benefit from some fans. However, I understand that Trieste is a very hot and humid city in the dinner. Marta, who works reception, is so kind and helpful!

I stayed here few nights and this place is cool. Staff is super nice. I was there when temperature was over 35 all the time, the old building doesn't have AC, so it was quite hot also indoors even every bed had own fan. The distance to the stations is bit long - still walkable but takes time (especially in this heat and with your luggage). Good breakfast.

ControVento was a very nice hostel that we would always recommend not only because it was very clean and comfortable to stay at but also because in time of need (very bad situation in a restaurant that resulted in a visit at the local police- just don’t go eating at Assaje-pizzeria! ) the staff was very supportive and showed true empathy! Even the manager herself offered us help.. we are grateful for that experience and would go back there anytime!

Ho girato diversi ostelli, soprattutto all'estero. Controvento è molto bello, raffinato, pulito, con più locali per rilassarsi e trascorrere del tempo piacevole. Una fantastica veduta sul mare e le stanze ampie. Avevo paura ci fosse rumore la sera, ma è silenzioso e si dorme benissimo, anche se il pavimento è in legno e si sentono i passi. Zona centralissima e servita con autobus. Le ragazze gentilissime e preparate per ogni informazione richiesta. Consigliatissimo :)

Ostello arredato molto bene con oggetti vintage e piante. La saletta è davvero confortevole ed è un piacere starci. L'unica pecca è che manca l'ascensore per raggiungerlo (quarto piano) e i pavimenti in legno sono scricchiolanti ma sicuramente ci torneremo. Posto centralissimo, colazione inclusa, cucina ad uso libero e personale super disponibile. Consigliatissimo.
