Valamar Obertauern

Clean room and excellent service at morning and dinner. Realy quiet room in the night. Nice and big pool and sauna area. Close to 3 lift and pist, a realy lovly place in the middel of Obertauern. Will raskt recomande this hotel to orther family.

I enjoyed couple days with friends and couple days alone in Valamar Obertauern hotel. There are plenty of services availible here , all on the top level: Wellness with pool area indoor and outdoor, massages, fitness, nice bar..amazing food. Staff is great, always on your dispossl when needed. Ienjoyed in hotel after ski and doesn not want to leave it

Beware of Valamar hotels in Obertauern! I had a reservation from APR10-14 at Valamar, booked on FEB 6. They cancelled it 2 days ago (on ARP3) as they are closing earlier than they thought so… They have NOT refunded me so far. If i cancelled it, i would have been charged 70%. They cancelled it and they dont want to pay any extra (they are not even refunding, though they promised to do so)!!!! How can they do that????? So just careful with booking to Valamar in Obertauern!!!! 15 yrs in Obertauern, and has never happened such earlier, not even at any other places of the world… cancelling on the last week is just the worst they can do! Shame on them! Its rude and unacceptable. I have just called them…. They promised everything but did not do anything! They said: "Please note the refund was already made by our side, the timing of the refund depends on the credit card issuer and usually takes from 3 to 4 weeks." In the last email, they said 3-4 days, so around APR9.... they advised me to contact my bank on APR9 and ask them to do it faster.... ha-ha. SEPA transfer is immediate.... if they want to they can do it immediately.... How come they can play with customers????? no more VALAMAR booking from me! So just keep in mind when you book your next trip to Obertauern!!!!! Zsolt

Another lovely stay, love the ski in/out, food was good, afternoon snack is just what you need after time on the slopes, very spacious lounge bar area to relax in. Edvin our waiter was lovely, very professional at all times, courteous and caring

We visited Obertauern for the second time and stayed again at the Valamar Obertauern hotel. And once again it was the perfect choice for us. Simple reservation proces, very polite and kind staff, fine food, great services, great location if you are skiing and of course good value for money...it is definitely worth. We area a family of three of us, me, my wife and a 2.5 years old son and we needed the skiing equipment for all of us, additionally wife needed a private skiing lessons, as she is a total beginner. All of that was so simple to arrange withe the hotel concierge, and what is very important everything worked out well. Thanks for that. Valamar Obertauern is having a cooperation with Ski rent and ski school Freudenhaus Frau Holle Obertauern which means that you as a Valamar guest get discount on all their services. And they and their staff are really great, patient polite and professional. My wife had a personal ski instructor, a young lady called Hanna from Berlin and according to my wife she was really great, not only that she learned her the basic skiing skills, but she gave her the feeling of safety and confidence that she can manage the slopes.

Great location, clean, warm, professional and friendly staff, a good wellness and swimming pool. Close to the Skii slopes and hotel has a ski depo which is under video surveillance. The hotel has a garage with an entrance height of 220cm. Maro indoor playground is not big but kids love it.

It was our second stay at this hotel. As good as the first one :) Location and food is great. Staff is good and friendly. Booking highly recommended :) Pool, saunas and excellent massages in their SPA. Obertauern is one of the best places for skiing and this hotel would be your best choice :)

Many thanks once again to all the wonderful staff. From initial check in, though daily impeccable service for the friendly and professional Saša at mealtimes, to the final check out, all staff are polite, helpful and friendly. You can see that the Valamar have struck gold with their formula. We met two other families who had come because they enjoyed their summer trip so much, and the hotel group appears to retain their excellent summer staff from the Croatian hotels to work in the winter season. This means the staff are really a cut above most hotels. The hotel itself is well equipped with heated boot room, spa, pool, kids club and large lobby bar. The rooms are a great layout for families. It’s close to the slopes, although not quite ski-in/out. We have been 4 times so clearly rate it! The only perennial mild disappointment is (and brace yourself for a stereotypical Brit complaining the food is too _insert country of origin_)! the supper- as the food on the slopes is typical Austrian, we were ready for a more pan European Fayre at night. Instead of more soups and schnitzel, we would love either a ‘chalet style’ option each night of perhaps chilli con carne, spaghetti Bolognese, tartiflette, etc, or simply more French/swiss alpine food. This is really our only complaint but enough that some members of the group return instead to France. On the whole, the breakfast buffet and salad buffets are vast. So these are great. Great family friendly relaxed hotel, very close to the slopes/town and kids ski schools. Dinner and breakfast is really varied with all the cooked and cold options. Staff are really friendly and Sandi at the Maro kids club (which is included in the price from 2-10pm) is just brilliant. Valamar really ensures families can enjoy adult activities whilst the kids are cared for.
