We rested in this wonderful place from May 25 to June 5, 2022 as a family of 2 adults and 1 child. We have traveled a lot around the world, but this is one of the best places and experiences. The villa is perfectly integrated into the jungle, on the territory you can see monkeys, monitor lizards, chipmunks. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well refurbished. Nice pool, cleaned every day. Very good cuisine. Breakfast is included in the room rate. Also, often we ordered lunch, very tasty. The owner of the villa personally, at our request, gave us an interesting tour. During the period of Dutch colonization, this villa belonged to the Dutch governor, and much has been preserved since those times. We really want to come back to this place again. Highly recommend the villa for a visit, it's a real pleasure.

What a perfect stay for the first leg of our Sri Lankan holiday. Our room was a good size and well equipped. The veranda looked out over a very clean and perfect temperature pool surrounded by extremely comfortable sun loungers. With the lake and beautifully manicured gardens, it offers a peaceful location to relax. You can imagine the main hotel as its former residence to the Governor in all it's elegant grandeur. The staff are friendly and helpful. Perfect location for a saunter to shops, cafes and restaurants. However the highlight has to be THE most delicious vegetable curries with fish or chicken - ask for 'no bones'. Not only is it THE best Sri Lankan curry we have had but great value. Head to the Jungle Beach with a tuk tuk - steep climb but worth it. Sunbeds, umbrellas and café. Even a nice clean loo there!

There are two types of rooms. Some new and spacious, old ones not that big. Rooms were clean. Spacious pool. Less variety in food, less choice. Service satisfactory. Small, limited garden… Not worth the money spent.

Dirty and run down the towels were like rags and felt like sand paper, there was no hot water the curtains were yellow the beds were hard and it felt like a prison cell it's in bad need of renovation not worth the nearly £60 we paid for 1 night the only possitive was the breakfast and staff

This is one of the calm and quiet places that I visted and it is with a good interior designing. The staff was friendly and the food was with a good taste. This place is with a colonial housing design which mixed with modern architecture paterns.

set apart form all the shouting neon and thumping garage that can be Unawatuna, this gem of an hotel is a treasure. Set between Sanjeewani herbal mountin (big hill really) and the main Galle Matara roaf and a few feet from the entrance road to Unawatuna main drag, the Nooit is an oasis of calm and understated elegent Dutch herritage. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean, overlooking a surprisingly large swimming pool and the staff were always kind and thoughtful. The dreadful shortages SriLanka was suffering during our stay meant that we always asked what was possible and recomended for meals but the Chef kept surpring us with excellent meals. We really couldnt recomend this hotel highly enough - loved it, thank you.

We started our Sri Lanka adventure on this hotel which is a old and very fine building which was previously the home of the Dutch governor. The hotel is not a fancy one and grounds could use a bit more attention. Additionally pigeons, wild dogs and monkeys make it a bit too crowded for me ... eg. when having lunch by the pool. One of the days my son actually had to jump in the pool to rescue a drowning dog ... after it had been beaten up by the monkeys. But the rooms were nice (and connecting 👍🏼) and service impeccable.

It’s a Lovely ancient bungalow tucked away right in the middle of Unawatuna with lots of history behind it. Great to to have a relaxing holiday. The staff r very friendly n helpful. Good for families with small kids. Beautifully laid out garden next to tract of forest

I had the privilege of experiencing a truly enchanting stay at a heritage hotel, complete with a colonial house and its own residence. The entrance to the property, adorned with a captivating long walkway, was a sight to behold. The culinary delights prepared on-site surpassed all expectations, eliminating the need for dining elsewhere. Although our exploration of the area was hindered by rainfall, the pool offered a mesmerizing vista of the mountains, ensuring delightful entertainment throughout our stay.
