Holiday Inn & Suites des Moines-Northwest

Everything was great and a beautiful hotel, lots of room and great restaurants connected to the hotel. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. All was good until we wanted to go to sleep, in a room across from our room there were people yelling and cheering. We put up with it for a while until at 11:45 pm I called the front desk to complain about the noise. I don’t know if anyone did anything because the noise didn’t stop until 2:30. So frustrating.

Very nice hotel. Clean, excellent condition, friendly staff, good restaurant on site. I have only one complaint- the bed was so hard!

We arrived during a bad snow storm and learned that the hotel had a Bennigan's restaurant attached. We had dinner there and observed the restaurant manager going above and beyond to make sure all of the guests were allright and had everything they needed. He checked in with everyone repeatedly. We also observed hotel staff help a woman clear snow from her car and start it so that she would not have to be in the cold. What excellent customer service!!!

Likes: clean, convenient, comfortable, and friendly staff. Dislikes: had to pay for breakfast.

My experience was very good. Check in was very quick. The staff was very friendly. The room was very nice, clean, comfortable and quiet. It looked like the room had been recently remodeled.

My overall stay was fantastic. Room was clean, bed comfortable. My only issue was the man at check in was not very friendly. I arrived around 7:30-8:00pm on Nov. 9, 2023. The man behind the desk was typing at the computer didn’t even acknowledge me for about 6 or 7 minutes. I could understand if he was on the phone with another customer but he wasn’t. Then, I finally get checked in, go upstairs to 3rd floor to my room and room keys didn’t work. So I go back downstairs to inform him keys don’t work. His response was “well I don’t know why because I programmed them correctly “. Finally got working keys get in my room and went to come to the Wi-Fi. The password was not legible so I call the gues service number and the man answers the phone with an audible sigh like I was a bother. I tell him I can’t make out the Wi-Fi password on my keycard and he rudely rambles off the password to me then hangs up. Not the service I expected from a holiday inn. Other than the desk help, stay was great. The morning person was extremely nice. I told him about my experience and he profusely apologized about my experience. Huge kudos to the morning staff. Oh and I just adored the little fur baby Willow!!

The lobby bathroom was kind of dirty the night we checked and still in the same condition in the morning and the sink would not work in their either

The toilet seat was broke. No toilet paper holder, water pressure was horrible. Tv kept cutting out. Elevators didn't sound good.

The hotel needed some up date. Housekeeping made my sons bed but complete left mine undone. Cleaned bath room and put in replacement towels, but left used face towels in the shower as if they were in a hurry. We lost hot water and had to take a cold shower as we needed to be at a wrestling tournament. They offered complimentary breakfast to some giving them blue tickets but not third party bookings. Breakfast was serve in the hallway from adjacent Bennigans with connections to the hotel.
