This hotel is in a very good location. It has charm and character. The staff could be a bit better. The male at the front desk was the most helpful. We got there before 3 which is check in time and our room was not ready so we rested for a while in the hotel, then went out till 3. There are a lot of stairs at this hotel and no elevator. We had a nice room, however it was quite noisy and it wasn’t the hotel that was noisy, it was the surrounding area. Also. i thought the bathroom was a bit dangerous. We had a shower tub combination but with the piece of glass they way it was, was kind of hard to get in and out of it. I also don’t care to reach behind me for toilet paper. The bathroom seemed awkward to me. I would not recommend this hotel for a person that has trouble walking or climbing stairs. I didn’t find anything special about this hotel but the location is good.

Located on the Paseo Gervasoni at the top of Ascensor Concepcion. Gran Hotel Gervasoni is in the heart all the Valparaiso’s attractions and sights. It is an older manor home so no elevator and the stairs creek but that is a part of its charm. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful for an English -speaking traveler. Tourist map of Valparaiso was available at the reception. There was an in room safe and liquid body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were available. The breakfast room was bright and airy with a harbor view. My room overlooked the paseo and was quiet after about 10 pm. The Fisher steps and Paseo Galvez are within 1-2 min walk. I’ll defiantly stay here on any future trips to Valparaiso. If arriving at Terminal Rodoviario bus terminal any number of city buses (200 CLP) will take you to Blanco and Gomez Carreño (about 5 min) where you can walk 2 blocks to Ascensor Concepcion (300 CLP) and easily ride up to Paseo Gervasoni and a 1 min walk to the hotel. Cars can go to the end of Papudo (1 block form Templeman and Papudo)

Avoid. The worst value for money I have experienced anywhere. It desperately needs a clean as well as a proper lick of paint, it’s very, very noisy, the breakfasts are dreadful with hot black water rather than coffee, the bathrooms were infeasibly tiny and manky, the TV picture was terrible, we were there for 4 nights and the rooms were cleaned once. We had to ask for replacement toilet paper. And it’s expensive, if it were a budget $35 a night job I could forgive, but the place is massively overpriced. Some of the staff were OK but the general attitude was. “Who gives a toss? We’ve got your money.”

We loved staying in this historic hotel. Our room had a water view that lit up at night. The high ceilings, abundant art, wood floors and elegant antique décor were unique and beautiful. It is located in the heart of the old city. They also provided a delicious breakfast with a choice of indoor or outdoor terrace seating with views.

Hotel Gervasoni was one of our favorite hotels in our 2 month trip to South America! The location could not have been better. We were right in the heart of the beautiful historic area, surrounded by restaurants and graffiti and street musicians. The breakfast was delicious, served on the outside deck overlooking the city. Our room was beautiful and had a small balcony overlooking the harbor. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

L’hôtel, idéalement situé ,au flan d’une colline, date de 1870 , dans le secteur historique où beaucoup de visites peuvent se faire à pieds. On découvre trois étages pleins de charme , une décoration d’époque .Les chambres sont simples mais avec le confort nécessaire , par contre la salle de bain est un peu trop petite . Le quartier est un peu bruyant ( les boules Quiess peuvent être utiles ! ). Une terrasse attenante à l’hôtel offre d’excellents cocktails. Nous avons également testé le restaurant , les plats sont savoureux. Tout le personnel est charmant et serviable . Ne ratez pas cet hôtel , c’est un vrai petit musée . A noter qu’il est un peu difficile à trouver et que ,si vous louez une voiture ,il n’est pas simple de se garer à Valparaiso !

La habitación que nos asignaron era muy ruidosa, no se puede descansar, muy chica, al igual que la cama, La alfombra esta muy sucia, (como si nunca la hubiesen limpiado), el ropero es chico y muy viejo Es muy calurosa, no cuenta con aire acondicionado ni ventilador,a partir de las 5AM comienzan los ruidos de la limpieza del pasillo y los preparativos para el desayuno, con golpes y ruidos de vajilla. El sábado por la noche hubo fiestejos en el bar del hotel ubicado a pocos metros de la habitación, donde el nivel de la música (muy alto) y el ruido de los participantes hacia imposible dormir, la fiesta termino a las 01:30 AM. Al ver las condiciones de la habitación pedí el cambio de la misma, me dijeron que esa era l habitación contratada y que no habia posibilidad de cambio aún abonando una diferencia.

Lo bueno Cama cómoda, Lo no tan bueno Se entiende que el hotel es una casa antigua, pero entrando, perturba el olor a naftalina. Llamé directo al hotel para obtener una atención personalizada, pero Paulo el recepcionista no me dió opción de elegir habitación con vista a la bahía. Nos dieron una habitación con vista al pasaje, no pude dormir por el constante ruido, la gente vecina, carretea en la entrada de la casa y se escucha todo, se entiende que valparaíso es bohemio, pero si quieres descansar, gervasobi, no es el lugar. El otro detalle es que solicité una hab con tina, pero no la pude ocupar porque había un pelo atrapado en uno de los difusores de agua, me dió asco. Le escribí un mail a Paulo contando mi experiencia y nunca respondió No lo recomiendo

Lamentablemente no fue una buena experiencia , la habitación no era lo esperado, mal ventilado, se sienten todos los ruidos del paseo cercano. Falta preocupación por el mantenimiento del hotel, la alfombra de la pieza no está limpia . Deja mucho que desear respecto a las fotos
