Bauer Casa Nova

I am so glad I stayed here! I was a little skeptical because there were not a ton of reviews but this hotel is part of the annex building from the 5 star Bauer hotel. It’s literally just right next door and in a smaller nice building. The room was so comfortable and the bed was so soft! The bathroom is a gorgeous marble and beautiful as well with a separate tub and shower. The location is perfect right on San Marco island and blocks away from the piazza and all the famous shopping is right outside the door. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I visit the most magical city of Venice. You won’t regret it.

We have stayed at the Hotel Bauer (sister hotel to the Residenza Grunwald) a few times before in Venice. As we were only staying one night in Venice, we thought we would try the Residenza Grunwald. This property which is in a separate building about a minute's walk from the Hotel Bauer utilizes all the services of the Bauer (lobby, check-in, dining, etc.), however, it does not have the beautiful canal views that the Bauer has. Our room at the Residenza Grunwald was very clean and was very large with a comfortable bed and beautiful marble bathroom with a separate tub and shower. The property is only a 5 minute walk to Piazza San Marco. It was a very good value. NOTE: the Hotel Bauer is scheduled to close later in 2022 as it has been purchased by the Rosewood Hotels company and they are planning a multi-year renovation. I am not sure what (if anything) will happen to the Residenza Grunwald, but given that it utilizes all of the Hotel Bauer's facilities, it may close too.

Wir haben zu dritt ein Zimmer in der Residenza Grunwald gebucht. Es haben viele Dinge genervt, die zu dieser schlechten Bewertung führen. Aber hauptsächlich lässt sich sagen: Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Das Haus ist ein alter, ungepflegter Kasten, durch die Fenster kommt kaum Tageslicht herein. Das Zimmer war dementsprechend dunkel, auch tagsüber. Der alte Teppich war fleckig. Eine Lampe war kaputt. Es gibt keine Annehmlichkeiten wie etwa eine Kaffemaschine oder eine Flasche kostenloses Wasser zur Begrüßung. Es war so staubig, dass einer aus unserer Gruppe starke Hausstauballergie bekommen hat. Eine Andere hat auf dem steinharten Beistellbett nicht schlafen können und ist murrend stattdessen auf das muffige Sofa ausgewichen. Sie ist mit starken Rückenschmerzen aufgewacht, die sie den gesamten nächsten Tag beim Biennalebesuch begleitet haben. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht, denn wir haben für die eine Nacht fast vierhundert Euro bezahlt. Ich weiss, dass die Unterkünfte in Venedig nicht günstig sind. Aber wir kamen aus Zürich, wo wir ein hohes Preisniveau gewohnt sind und die Residenza Grunewald zeigt sich auch im Vergleich unseres Erfahrungshorizonts besonders kaltschnäutzig. So haben die Rezeptionistinnen und Rezeptionisten auf unsere Reklamationen mit Bedauern aber ohne große Hilfsbereitschaft oder gar Kulanz reagiert.

O Hotel é um anexo do Bauer Palazzo, no qual ficamos alguns dias. Nosso quarto era muito amplo, com decoração estilo Veneziano, mas o quarto era completamente renovado, limpo. É claro que isto pode depender do tipo de quarto selecionado. Além do mais, o café na manhã é servido no hotel Bauer Palazzo, à margem do Grande Canal.

La Residenza Grunwald esta en una anexo del Hotel Bauer, la recepcion, desayuno etc se hace desde el hotel Bauer. Las habitaciones son grandes, tranquilas y decoradas al estilo veneciano. El personal muy amable y servicial La ubicacion es inmejorable al lado de la plaza San Marcos.
