B&B Fortuny

My husband, 9 and 10-year-old daughters and I loved staying at the B&B Fortuny. It is a very short walk from the water bus stop which makes it an easy journey to and from the Marco Polo Airport. Andrea sent clear and detailed instructions on how to get there. He gave us a friendly welcome when we arrived even helping to carry our luggage up the stairs. If he's not going to be there when you arrive he again sends detailed instructions. We stayed in the mirror apartment which was fantastic. It was very spacious. It was fun to open the windows in the morning and listen to the people walking by. It has a great atmosphere. It was no problem to store our bags after check out so that we could enjoy our last day in Venice. I highly recommend it.

This stay was fabulous, ideal location, room was lovely, with a lot of thought given to the toiletries in the room. Breakfast was continental and delicious. Would stay again and definitely recommend. Warm welcome on arrival with map and places to visit given.

We had a fantastic stay at the B&B Fortuny appartment in Venice. The appartment was very quiet and clean and included all necessary features and located very conveniently from the Rialto and San Marco. We were in the appartment on December 31st and Andrea, our host did his best to make our stay unforgettable. He helped us book a great restaurant and left many kind attentions to us in the appartment. We want to thank Andrea for being so welcoming and highly recommend a stay at this property.

Great place to be. The location in the heart of Venice only a few ateps from the Vaporetto (boat taxi) to and from the airport away. Nicely decorated specious apartment in a calm area. Well equipped with all amenities for a 3-4 days stay. Comfortable beds.

Very nice B&B just a stones throw from the Grand Canal. The room was on the 2nd floor and was very nice. The bathroom had all the nice amenities as well. Andrea was very nice and very helpful with directions to get to the B&B. The B&B is within walking distance to several nice coffee shops and restaurants as well. The breakfast was very nice and was more than enough to start the day off.

The positives. Great location: We took Vaporetti line 1 (use dock 'E' from the train station to get on the 1) with a short 5 minute walk to the B&B. We also used the stop for the Alilaguna to the airport. It was one of the first stops so there was seating. We liked the short walk to Campo Santa Stefano and Accademia Bridge at night. We also picked up a gondola next to Accademia Bridge thanks to Andrea's recommendation. Only a 12 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. Very quiet at night. We enjoyed watching the activity by boat in the narrow canal just outside our window. We purchased a 48 hour vaporetti ticket and we did around 8 trips from the convenience of the stop to the B&B. The review would have been excellent except for two things. First, breakfast was not served until 8:30. It was hot in Venice even in September and we would have liked a 7:00 breakfast so we could get out to see the sites before it got hot. Second, and I found this very irritating, they insisted that I pay for the room in cash or bank transfer, not a credit card. The booking confirmation said: "Cash or credit card payment will be made directly at the hotel." (in bold). We had to spend a couple of hours on two trips in finding an ATM where we could get the cash without the 5.5% fee (we eventually went to Deutsche Bank). I had to pay a 2% exchange rate fee to my bank on top of the inconvenience. I am not sure I would have stayed here if I knew ahead of time if I knew that I had to pay in cash.

Very small place, clean, close to water bus stop, nice and quiet and just far away enough from crowded areas but still close to everything. Nothing more than 10-20 minute walk to just about anywhere. Perfect! Andrea was awesome. Gave us great advice, directions, instructions, recommendations. Would stay there again!!

This apartment is in the historic area on the 2nd floor no elevator its nice and clean but the AC is weak during heat wave.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at BnB Fortuny. The bed was comfortable, the wifi was fast, and the space was quiet. We especially liked our host, Andrea, who spoke excellent English and sat down with us when we got in to go over a 2-day itinerary that was tailored to things that we liked to do!
