Meininger Hotel Wien Downtown Sissi

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. The dinner provided was of such poor quality that none of us in our group could eat it. Additionally, the receptionist not only failed to offer any solution but also displayed completely unacceptable behavior, even going so far as to tell us multiple times to go back to our own country. I want to highlight the lack of respect and poor hospitality demonstrated by the staff. I strongly advise against anyone seeking even a modicum of courtesy and quality in the services offered to avoid this hotel.

Pay attention to this hotel if you come during the summer. IT HAS NO AIR CONDITIONING! They forgot to mention that they don't have air conditioning and it's 37 degrees outside. They gave us a fan and that's it. My mistake is that I didn't think about the fact that a 3-star hotel in the center of Vienna does not have air conditioning. If you want parking spaces at the Hotel, ask beforehand if they are available. I couldn't find any parking spaces and they sent me to park in a public parking lot 500 m away. Rooms with outdated furniture, broken shower cubicle with broken faucet. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL during the summer.

Very clean hotel in a good location . 5 minutes from U station , 15 from Stephansplatz and 25 minutes from Rathaus. People in reception are very friendly and helpful. Is on the other side of the river. The only problem is to find the correct exit to station

It was an alright stay at Meininger Vienna Downtown Sissi. It reminds me of a hotel, kind of a budget hotel you could call it. They have breakfast for €10 is you want to pay for that or there is a kitchen you can use. One thing about that is you have to walk through that area (lounge/breakfast room) to get to the common kitchen - and there was no AC in the common kitchen, so it was incredibly warm in there, where the breakfast room had AC.... The room was fine - we had a double bed, private bathroom and there was even a ventilator to cool the room down. One down side we expereienced was on our first night - we locked the door and it sounded like someone was trying to get into the room. A few mintues later the door is opened by the receptionist. It was really strange that she didn´t knock before entering or didn´t check if somebody was in the room before entering the room. She even asked if we checked in that day - very unprofessional in my opinion that she didn´t check all these things before and that she had given a key to the former tenant in the room.....

Very rude menagers. We’ve booked our stay in this hotel for 19-22 November and payed about 500€ in total, but our flight is cancelled due to weather conditions, so we couldn’t come. My friend called hotel the same night and they didn’t have any understanding for this. I need to write that my two friends were here before! They told her it’s not possible to move reservation telling her they don’t have space for next week. But I checked and they absolutely have space. So, today I called them and they were very rude, they even hung up on me while I was talking. I explained that our flight was canceled and that we could not come (otherwise we are students) and asked them to change our reservation, but they did not want to. They said it was impossible to return the money, to which I told them that I knew it was possible for them to at least change our reservation and that we didn't want the money back. Then the manager started yelling and telling me that I am rude. I told him to listen to me, but he just rudely hung up. It's a shame for a hotel to treat its guests like this. I am completely disappointed!

Budget Hotel ans suitable for families. Clean rooms, helpuf personel, variety of vending machines. Very nice neighbourhood with many restaurants and shops around. 10 minutes walk from Schwedenplatz and 5 minutes from Taborstrabe. If i will be at Vienna again will be my 1st choice!!!

good hotel in walking distance from citi centre. Very helpfull staff, average breskfast, only cold dishes but with good poiont. The only REALLY NOT GOOD thing was that the daily cleanong of our room was REALLY POOR...

We arrived half an hour before check-in (2.30pm). We filled out the forms handed over the documents and they informed us that we would have to wait 20 minutes for the room. At 15 we went to the same person who managed the first phase of check-in and he warmly invited us to re-queue because she was changing the turn without giving us the room keys. Among the colleagues did not even speak and we had to re-queue to get the keys...Moral of the story we enter the room at 15.30 (half an hour after the time of delivery of the keys). (3 notti dal 13 al 16/4/2024). Siamo una coppia con un bimbo di 5 anni e devo dire che ci siamo trovati abbastanza bene. Abbiamo scoperto questo hotel su Booking ma poi abbiamo prenotato direttamente sul sito dello stesso hotel perché, per esperienze negative passate, non ci fidiamo più di Booking. Il personale della Reception è molto cordiale e pronto a rispondere a tutte le domande col sorriso in bocca. L'hotel è abbastanza carino e pulito. Quindi come voto, su una scala da 1 a 10, diamo 8 (che, su una scala da 1 a 5, corrisponde a 4). Perché non il voto massimo? Io credo che le critiche costruttive servano a crescere e quindi vi elenchiamo le poche cose negative che comunque non hanno rovinato per nulla il nostro soggiorno: l'illuminazione della stanza troppo fioca, la colazione abbondante ma troppo basica (c'era poca scelta), la mancanza di un sorriso da parte del personale della sala della colazione, la mancanza di un bicchiere per gli spazzolini nel bagno della stanza e, la pecca più grande, il letto matrimoniale con i materassi singoli per niente avvicinabili (quindi con un grosso spazio tra loro). La stanza l'abbiamo trovata ben pulita però c'era scritto nelle istruzioni che ci hanno dato che a richiesta avremmo potuto usufruire delle pulizie anche ogni giorno e invece una donna alla reception ha detto che non era così. Concludo dicendo che, per evitare che si pensi che siamo rimasti insoddisfatti, letto finto-matrimoniale a parte, siamo rimasti contenti e che lo consiglieremo sicuramente per l'ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo e anche perché si trova a pochi passi dal centro (km 1,2). Bravi! Approfitto di questo spazio anche per aggiungere che Vienna è stupenda e la gente cordiale e simpatica (tranne il personale che controlla i bagagli in aeroporto e il personale di Ryanair tra i più maleducati al mondo).
