Hôtel Bahia

We had 2 nights in the Hotel Bahia. My husband is coeliac and the hotel were advised well in advance that he required a breakfast which was gluten free. No gluten free bread or cereals were provided on either day (despite a gentle reminder) so, although ham, yoghurt etc. were available, there were no carbohydrates Secondly, we had left 2 bike cartons for transporting our bikes safely back to the UK in the hotel. We were told by the hotel where to store them and the hotel were advised when we would be using them. When we turned up to pack the bikes, we discovered that the bike cartons had been shredded and jettisoned. One friendly receptionist found 4 cardboard boxes which we were able to tape together into a covering for the bikes. But they were neither rigid nor robust, and this led to damage to one of the bikes. When I complained, the hotel were dispassionate and defensive in their response.

The employees were incredibly nice. The private space (garden) connected to and surrounding the hotel building is beautiful, with several plants an trees. The beach is just 2 steps away. It literally could not be closer to the hotel and is probably one of the emptiest beaches, that the Cote dAzure has to offer AND is made of sand instead of stones. If you drive with your own car you have to pay for parking pretty everywhere including the hotel parking lot and the nearest train station is 20-25min walking distance from Bahia Hotel. There are multiple restaurants in walking distance. I would stay there again.

Well thank God we only stayed there for one night!!… we didn't feel that safe in this hotel at all, the room was just about big enough for a double bed and was very dated other than the shower

This place was very disappointing. We arrived for our honeymoon and was so excited to stay here after seeing the pictures online but we’re very dissatisfied the whole time. When we checked in the room was very dirty - there were stains all over the walls, dirty coffee cups, marks all over the bathtub, and stains on the headboard. The whole room smelt awful and reaked of cigarettes. We immediately asked for another room but the hotel was full. Also we had a terrace but it over looked the parking lot and did not feel very safe. One of the ladys that worked there offered us free breakfast because of our dirty room but that did help because we still had to stay in a dirty room. The cleaning lady came back and changed the coffee mugs and sprayed a few spots on the wall but my husband had to do a lot of the cleaning himself to try and get the place livable. We tried to air out the smell by keeping the windows opened but it barely worked. We were trying to see if we could get a refund and book somewhere else but because we prepaid we wouldn’t be able to get all of our money back. Also, 2 out of the 3 days we were here, we were not given access to the private beach because it was full. The only reason we booked this hotel was for the beach so this was very disappointing. We were able to get spots by the pool but it was filled with screaming kids the whole time and also seemed very dirty. This place is rated a 3 star hotel but should be rated a 1 star hotel because of how dirty and run down it is. Graffiti on the pool chairs, elevator doesn’t work, etc. The pictures posted are from after the SECOND round of cleaning.

This is not a hotel. This is a condominium project with badly deferred maintenance. The water view units are for permanent residents and the rental units are street and parking lot frontages. The restaurant is very limited menu and inconsistent closing hours

Isobel was the best person to greet us! She was very friendly and really cheered us up after a long night travelling. She allowed us to go the pool, which was also great. The rooms were clean and sufficient. Not a single thing was bad, would definitely come again & very good for value.

Well educated, attentive, respectful employees. Fair price. Renovated room with very good air conditioning. Great location, just a few steps from the sea. Beach service paid separately, but fair price.

Stayed for a week bed and breakfast and difficult to fault what was provided. Good sized room with large bed, modern bathroom, sea view, mini fridge, wifi. Hotel had a lovely pool area - you had to pay a 20 euro deposit to get the key for it. 2 areas as the hotel seems to cater for hotel guests and people who own property on the complex. Blue sun loungers for the hotel guests. Never got too busy. Breakfast was fairly basic with bread, pastries, cereal (3 types) fruit. Coffee machine was good and the orange juice was fresh. There is meant to be a private beach and bar area but this was not open so there was nowhere to get a drink during the day or at night. That said there are plenty of bars nearby and a supermarket opposite the hotel that sells everything. Location is excellent - about 8kms from Nice airport (taxi was a bit pricey and 42 euros from the airport - only 33 euros going back to it with a local taxi), huge promenade running to Nice that is about 3km long with lots of beaches. Really clean and well kept. Lots of restaurants and cafes in the local vicinity that have large portions. The pizza place just down the road was excellent - pizzas the size of a tyre. Some nice restaurants around the harbour as well.
