Hotel Molino d'Era

We are not strangers to Tuscany, but we usually stay at the Hilton Timeshare a bit up the road. Due to my screwup, our stay was broken into two segments. We had eaten dinner several times at this hotel/restaurant and enjoyed it, Why not stay there for our gap days, so we did. The property is out in the country and if you don't want to hang out there and eat at the very serviceable restaurant, then you need to drive somewhere. Yes it's in the country, NO it is not out in the sticks. plusses: the room was spacious, with a TV. No food prep implements. An armoir was provided, along with a desk. There was air conditioning, but we couldn't figure out how to make it work. Since we were on the downhill side of summer, we opened the window instead. There is a nice patio, where you can have a meal, an espresso, or fresh air. There was a garden area adjacent to the patio with tables and chairs, with open spaces where kids could play. The hotel was quite quiet midweek. The restaurant is very good, and they have a nice selection of Tuscan dishes, as well as pizza. There is a breakfast buffet that was included in the price of our room. There were cold cuts, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, bread, hot and cold beverages. espresso on request. Minuses: we couldn't find the room's air conditioning controls. Should have called reception, but didn't. The weather was in the high eighties (F), and we made do with opening the window. It cooled off nicely by evening. The shower was tiny. It occupied a corner of the bathroom and had two sliding doors to close the area off. There was a small amount of road noise, caused by trucks going to Volterra. It wasn't a deal breaker. Summing up: the location is a bit rural, but it really is a nice place, and the staff is friendly, very helpful, and multi-lingual. The restaurant is special enough for us to have gone there as a destination.

Delightful find, six of us had the most maverlous lunch, delicious food sadly we did not have time to go back but it was excellent.The dinning room was pleasant and cool, staff charming and we drank plenty of excellent rose.

Excellent food and lots of locals eating there. We found it a little slow as we were rushing to the airport but that would not normally be a problem. Love the food. The choice is excellent. I love eating there whenever I can.

Perfect location to drive around Tuscany

The aircondition was to old, and even though it could be turned on and made a lot of noise, it didn't actually work. And it wasn't because it was too hot, it was only around 28-30 degrees outside. At the night we chose to open the windows instead, not ideal, but better than no functioning aircon.

Direkt neben einer Tankstelle liegt dieses Hotel mit einem sehr guten Restaurant und einem super Preis/Leistungsverhältnis! Das Hotel haben wir nicht genutzt, aber im Restaurant waren wir schon mehrfach essen. Richtig, richtig gute Pizza zu einem super günstigen Preis (auch zum Mitnehmen). Super leckere Nudelgerichte und auch das Rinderfilet ist von sehr guter Qualität. Der Chef und die gute Seele IRMA sind sehr um die Gäste bemüht und man fühlt sich sehr gut aufgehoben. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

La struttura è immersa nella quiete della campagna volterrana. È una struttura abbastanza grande e accogliente, con una grande corte interna con un ulivo dove ci sono ulteriori tavoli del ristorante, in cui si mangia ottima cucina Toscana e pizza cotta in forno a legna. Ampio parcheggio esterno. Le camere sono abbastanza ampie con TV, aria condizionata ma senza telefono. Qualche dettaglio dei bagni e degli spazi comuni andrebbe aggiornato e migliorato ma nel complesso è una buona struttura e il personale è molto gentile. Colazione non ricchissima ma nella norma, con scelta tra dolce e salato, e consumazioni preparate al momento dall'attiguo bar. Prezzo nella norma. Consigliato per un fine settimana all'insegna della tranquillità.

Accueil de bonne qualité, restauration sur place de bonne qualité, heureusement car un peu isolé, propre mais vieillot. Wifi de faible qualité. Au global, un rapport qualité prix correct et une base bien placé si vous êtes en voiture pour visiter San Gimignano et Volterra

Camere datate ma pulite. Il bagno da rivedere completamente, soprattutto la doccia. Nel complesso silenzioso, buona qualità del sonno. Ampio giardino e parcheggio. A circa 10 km da Volterra, 10 minuti in auto, comodo per visitare la città. Buono il ristorante utilizzato per cena.
