Hotel & Gasthaus Lowen

We enjoyed Hotel and Gasthaus Lowen very much. Booking the hotel was easy and the communication from the hotel to us was excellent. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and taking the train into Freiburg was very easy and made our time lass stressful as we didn't need to worry about driving. Our room was well equipped, comfortable and quiet. It was the ideal place for us to stay as visited the Christmas market in Freiburg.

Genuine and cosy hotel, newly renovated rooms. Very clean, nice restaurant and superfriendly staff. Lovely little village and the surroundings are beautiful, Great breakfast, Nice restaurant, both inside and out in the garden. Can highly recommend this place!

The room was nice, large and clean. Staff was nice, polite, professional and willing to solve any problem (although sometimes struggling with communication in English). Parking is free (we could park our pretty long van in front of the hotel and were offered a garage to park our motorbikes). The restaurant seems to have a good reputation as it was always totally full in the evenings so booking a table is recommended. The meals were very good and tasty (a bit pricey, though) but the portions were very large (more than we needed). Breakfast offered a selection of pastry, dairy products - butter, cheese, yoghurt, etc., ham, salamy, smoked salmon, scrambled / hard boiled eggs, hot sausage, drinks like tea, various types of juice and coffee from an espresso machine (really nice). You may need to get used to the church bell (40 metres away - so it is quite loud) chiming every 15 minutes, but some people may find it romantic. We went for walks every evening and within 5 minutes in any direction you will find yourselves between the fields, orchards or vineyards. There are plenty of bike paths around and a train station 3 minutes away if you want to visit Freiburg, which we recommend. If you get the guest card at the reception then you travel for free, the journey takes only about 15 minutes, the trains leave every 30 minutes and Freiburg is worth visiting). Schwarzwald mountain range is literally round the corner if you are into cycling, hiking or riding a motorbike. We just did't go to the sauna because the weather was really hot. All in all, we were very happy with the Lowen Hotel and can recommend it to other travellers.

Very nice stay in a nice and clean room. The staff is very kind and helpful and the breakfast is good. The position of the hotel is perfect to visit Freiburg and the Schwarzwald. Parking is free and the restaurant serves tasty German dishes. Recommended.

Beautiful and newly built Hotel 10 km away from Freiburg. The Hotel is very clean and the staff really friendly and nice. We had our new year’s eve dinner in the restaurant and I must confess that the quality of the food is excellent. Plus: fabulous Sauna and relaxing area and well equipped gym. Very much suggested.

We, a family with two teens, stayed one night on our way back home from Italy. This family hotel has outstanding service and offers good value for money. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We will certainly book again and can recommend it highly.

Sehr gutes Frühstück, schönes Zimmer im Stammhaus mit Balkon zum Innenhof, ruhige Lage, fußläufig zum Bahnhof, Fahrstuhl vorhanden, go0sser moderner Fernseher, kommen gern wieder her ..........................................

Waren als Familie mit zwei Kindern, 10 & 16, für 2 Nächte im Hotel. Wir haben uns alle gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Gutes Frühstück und auch das Restaurant ist zu empfehlen. Man spürt sofort, wenn ein Hotelbetrieb familiengeführt ist. Eine Lademöglichkeit für E Autos am Hotelparkplatz wäre klasse gewesen.

Saubere und ausreichende Parkplätze. Empfang nett, freundlich und informativ. Zimmer mit dem Aufzug gut zu erreichen. Gut für gehbehinderte Personen. Geräumiges großes Zimmer, kleiner Balkon, mit großem Bad und Dusche. Sauber und gepflegt. Frühstück für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Jege Menge an Kaffeevariationen möglich. ( Dallmayer Kaffee ). Frische und regionale Produkte stehen im Vordergrund. Die Speisekarte des Restaurants enthält von Gourmetgerichten bis zur regionalen Hausmanskost eine ausgewogene Auswahl. Regionale Biere ( ich trinke gerne Biere aus der Region) Badische Weine, sowie alkoholfreie Getränke ergänzen die Getränkekarte. Desertkarte enthält viele leckere Angebote. Beim nächsten Besuch werde ich die Apfleküchlein probieren. Sevice, volle 5 Sterne, wenn es möglich wäre, gäbe ich 6 Sterne. Ein Familienbetrieb seit Generationen. Hier ist jeder, auch die Angestellten,. mit Herzblut dabei. Wir freuen uns auf einen nächsten Besuch.
