The Stapylton Arms

Found this little place after a recommendation from Chef James Martin! Really warm welcome. Rooms are immaculate and comfortable. However the food is just the best. Reasonably priced and with exceptional service from great staff. A lot of people come here just for the notorious scampi but we have been here several times now and have never been disappointed in any of our food choices and the freshly cooked breakfasts are just the best. We will definitely be back very soon.

Our second visit, delighted with the room. Evening meal was fantastic and breakfast set us up for the day ahead. Look forward to finding an excuse to visit again.

What a gem! We were on a coast to coast cycle tour when we stayed, tired, bedraggled, hungry and potentially grumpy, but the warmest of welcomes, lovely accomodation and fabulous tasty food put the smiles back on our faces. Owners and staff could not do enough for us. Cannot too highly recommend this great place.

The whole menu is delicious but the scampi is wonderful. The staff are cheery and polite and are definitely an asset to the hotel. We ate twice here, once at night and once at lunchtime before returning home. Both times were excellent. Highly recommend if you are in the area

Very comfortable bed, good clean rooms with extra pillows available. Guest lounge also available. TV in the room. Lovely selection of teas, coffee and homemade biscuits in the room. Definitely a great place to eat with amazing food and generous portions. Staff all very friendly and helpful, froze my cool blocks for my meds for me.

Just back from a really nice stay at the Stapylton Arms. Welcome was really friendly and accommodating, including finding us a table for lunch during a very busy service. Food was first class, we both had salads that were extremely tasty and well presented. Our room was clean, tidy and well equipped. We were dining out in the evening, but we’re welcomed back and invited to sit in the lounge for a nightcap…the perfect end of the day. Breakfast service next morning was excellent too…great tea, very tasty and well prepared full English, with the added bonus of some homemade lemon curd. We’ll definitely be back.

Ate here one night while on holiday. So pleased we booked. Outstanding food! The chef is clearly a master in the kitchen . My husband had the Gravadlax to start and sirloin steak to follow. Both superb. I had the lightly battered tiger prawns to start and the special of beef medallions in mushroom and French mustard sauce-delicious! The veg were definitely freshly cooked and we had homemade chips . Service was attentive without being obtrusive. All in all a really nice experience

No idea how we stumbled across this place. But so glad we did. The food is good restaurant standard and certainly not “pub grub”. We had the smallest of rooms. But it was spotlessly clean and we were only there to sleep off a very nice night in a great place. Breakfast was awesome to. And you couldn’t fault the service one bit. Just need a reason to return🤔. Perhaps when there is next a Y in the day of the week😊👍🏻.

Fantastic little hotel. Very friendly staff and the food is amazing. Definitely be back.
