Seafield Hotel & Spa Resort

We had the most fantastic stay! All the staff were so fantastic from reception to the bar, the spa! Everyone was so amazing they really are a credit to the hotel. We didn’t want to eat in the restaurant and they had no problem accommodating us in the bar instead. The room was fantastic and actually had a little balcony which was lovely! We had drinks in the bar, they were expensive but you’re paying for the atmosphere and hotel and you don’t mind once the staff are nice! The food was lovely too. The breakfast was fantastic, it’s a buffet but you do get a lot brought to the table so it’s only a hot buffet really it was fantastic and so fresh! The spa was gorgeous, we had a full body massage and then spent some time in the thermal suite. They also knew it was my birthday so gave us some gorgeous Prosecco and strawberries in a private area with a jacuzzi for an hour, it was such a gorgeous touch and much appreciated!! Before we left we visited the private beach which you have to access with your room card, a short walk though a little forest , it’s a class little hidden gem! We cannot wait to return, 10/10 would recommend!

This was our first visit to this hotel, we booked quite last minute for a one night stay. Our package included breakfast, lunch and dinner and we stayed in a double room with balcony. We were checked in by a lovely and very friendly English lady whose name I did not get unfortunately. She was very helpful and welcoming and made a great first impression for our stay at this hotel. We had 2-course lunch in the Village Bar as part of our package while we waited for our room. Great selection on offer as part of the inclusive menu. We had confirmed a double room with reservations prior to our stay but when we arrived to our room, there were 2 x single beds. This was quickly rectified after a quick phone call to reception. Room was nice but felt very empty and a little tired. Most of the furniture had scuff marks and visible signs of wear and tear. Room lacked information about hotel facilities, room service etc, even a QR code in room would have been helpful to learn more about the hotel facilities and menu for room service. No fridge/mini bar and also no AC. The balcony/patio terrace was lovely and very spacious and had comfortable furniture to relax outside. We had dinner in the Green Room and really enjoyed our experience here. Service was excellent, staff were friendly and food was lovely also. The Village Bar had live music from 10pm which we also enjoyed. The main attraction for us was the Spa Thermal Suite. We have stayed in quite a few 4/5 star spa hotels in Ireland and would definitely rate this thermal suite very high compared to others we’ve been to. We had complimentary 2 hour sessions included in our rate for each day of our visit. There is also a lovely river walk which takes approx 15 mins to walk to the nearby private beach. Hotel keycard is required for access. Highly recommend during your visit. Overall, we really enjoyed our first visit to this hotel and will return. Rooms could do with a little TLC but overall we found our stay very comfortable and enjoyable .

I booked a suite which was very expensive for a two night midweek trip. Filthy limescale around the taps in the bathroom. TV was only working intermittently which was very annoying. Really poor standard for such an expensive room. There was a huge balcony but no privacy. You can walk along the balcony and see into all the other rooms as there is no division. If you had your door to the balcony open, anybody could walk in. Very concerning.

We booked a large family, over 20, for a 2 night stay. Rooms looked modular and very basic, have had similar in a premier inn, and were way over priced at €680 2 night stay double room bed and breakfast. We felt treated like an inconvenience when as a family we spent 10k plus for our stay. We we shown a lovely room for pricatw dining when booking- we didnt get that room - we got one that was far too large cold and impersonal and no bar service. Hotel was very inflexible with dining times and a limited with menu- essentially it was a reduced choice bar menuu at €60 per head. No drinks included. Serving staff were nice but managers hovered around all the time with scowling faces - felt sorry for the staff. Service was poor with some people finished their course before others weren't yet served. Spa had many areas closed off for private treatments and looked grubby - steam room and sauna felt cold. Guests staying in houses had to pay €20 each per vist to go into the spa area- staff were dogged and insisted on 16 and 17 year old family members show proof of age- must be over 16 - not an easy task when 16 unless you bring your passport -staff rejected serval other proof of age items presented by parents as not being valid. Interestingly no checks were made in the bar for proof of age. There are no facilities for kids under 16 as the only pool is the spa pool Will never go back and never recommend this hotel.

There was Hair in the shower and on the floors, we were moved to a complimentary room with a balcony without any hassle. In the new room the Shampoo & toilet roll holder were loose. The baths are absolute death traps to get in and out of, it's quite high up and chunky enough to get your leg over. The baths are slippy even with the bath mats that I end up bruising the inside of my legs as I slipped getting into it. The Bathroom doors are peeling from the bottom and the floors in the bathroom are not cleaned properly, the complimentary hand soap and shower gel keeps getting stuck and you've to lift it up and down everytime to pump it. The Rooms have a radiator which we couldnt figure out and the room was freezing, we kept waking during the night. We paid for breakfast when we arrived and when we arrived we were Charged for cappuccino after paying for breakfast, most hotels you get all breakfast free including drinks but all "special drinks" like cappuccino or lattes etc you are charged separately for. The Staff are ran off their feet getting tea,toast & juice where as most hotels have this as a self service, this hotel does not. the breakfast was finished by the time we got the toast and had to ask several times for juice and we were put in a queue for it to receive half a glass of juice. The staff are lovely and helpful we had absolutely no fault with the staff what so ever. The hotel is not worth the money for how expensive it is, I have stead at much cheaper and have not had any of these issues. The spa is packed with too many people and not worth the hype. We spent 40 minutes and left and didn't go to the 2nd day we had book as it was packed in any room you went into or the jacuzzi, it was packed with people. The Tv kept freezing in the room and is not a smart tv, we end up using our laptop to watch tv. There are No ice buckets so we were charged €4 for an ice bag.. it is nice and you get to keep it but not it is not practical to fit much in it. We did enjoy our stay for what we made of it ourselfs. This is the 1st review iv and I feel it was needed because of how expensive it is and for what you get.

To say our stay from start to finish was 5 star is an understatement. This hotel is on a par if not better than other 5 star plus hotels we have been lucky to stay in. The staff are genuinely the nicest people anyone could have looking after them and the surroundings, clean, modern and peaceful. The interior of the hotel feels calm and inviting, the gardens and beach walk both peaceful and invigorating. From the time we arrived we felt at ease and totally lost for words at the welcome and attention to detail. There was a wedding being hosted as we arrived but you would never have known it as the staff moved efficiently and professionally around the hotel . The dining was superb, wholesome, high quality food which was presented so professionally I had to take some photos. The evening was finished off perfectly, when the chef presented a fabulous anniversary treat . The following morning was spent relaxing in the 5 star Spa , followed by a wonderful breakfast and another walk down to the beach. This hotel is a secret treasure and a must on anyone’s Irish travel plans.
