Hey, you can't fault a bloke who not only didn't charge us for early check-in but took the trouble to message us ta ask us when we would be arriving. Then, after we arrived early, he upgraded our room to a far superior one at no further cost. It was a delightful room, spacious, airy, surrounded by lush, well curated gardens with a solar heated swimming pool and a spa(we didn't use them). One step, two step, and you are on the riverfront, with a grassed area and outside furniture. Granted, you've got to have the tide in for the water to be lapping at the end of a kind of jetty/swimming platform, and I did and went for a swim two mornings in a row. At low tide, you can walk a fair old way, possibly into town. Oh,his name is Ken, a most amiable and helpful fellow. Do go and see him.

Positioned on the bay and within walking distance (5-10 mins) to shops, restaurants, beach. Room was comfy. Had all we needed plus a workable kitchen. We had the best sleep, bed and pillows have been the best of our near 3 week travels around the North Island. Our host was very knowledgeable of the area and had great suggestions re things to see, where to eat (big shout out to Blue Lagoon).

One of the best places that we have spent our holidays in NZ .Ocean 88 ,Whitianga is located in the best possible position .Very quiet place and beautiful sea view that you can hear only the birds singing ,especially the swimming pool and hot tub area where is the entertainment and the barbecue area it is amazing.The excellent communication skills of Ken and Del that are managing the place did make our stay much more pleasant with them showing us around and telling us not to hesitate to call them anytime is we had any questions or any problem .Rooms were spotless with very comfortable bed and simple but nice kitchen.We can’t thank them enough and we will definitely be back in this beautiful place .

Stayed a couple of nights on our way to Rotorua. Lovely clean room and big comfy bed. There is a nice bathroom and kitchen. The room was spacious with a small outside seating area. In a great location with benefits of a warm pool and hot tub. There are also kayaks free to use which my partner did. Close to supermarket and restaurants. Would recommend.

Lovely location and pool. Very comfy bed. Our unit (not a suite) was adequate but needed updating. No power points apart from the kitchen. Basic painted block walls and wardrobe door that couldn’t be closed. The outside seating area looked at the car park, not a tropical garden and not a jasmine covered wall! The “stroll” through the tropical garden is a few steps…unnecessary exaggeration leads to disappointment.

What a fantastic location. Lynette and the staff were so welcoming . Accommodations excellent. Pool area magnificent. Beds comfy. Pillows perfect and bed linen/ towels very luxurious. Definitely go back. Such a wonderful Christmas with lots of memories made. Thanks and sorry my review took me so long to do
