Small but nice hotel room. Good beds, coffee and tea facilities and refrigerator. Lunch in the afternoon was good and breakfast was a very pleasant surprise with a lot of delicious things you certainly do not meet in other hotels. The location of the hotel is excellent, a train station right outside the door. However we had brought our bikes with us and Nijmegen city center was an easy 15 min ride across the bridge. The hotel also rents bikes. Service was excellent all around. There is a wellness center with sauna, steam room, relax area, and showers. We used it several times and wacht time it was very clean. There is also a gym. My husband also had a massage and the lady Sima was excellent. Highly recommend her. A shout out to the omelet chef, he was very friendly, energetic and made wonderful omelets. It was extremely busy on Sat at breakfast and we were amazed how well he dealt with all the orders. We had a corner room on the 13th floor with an impressive view of the Nijmegen skyline. Room was sound proof and had excellent beds. All in all a wonderful stay.

Just a short (thankfully downhill) walk from the railway station (extensive rail and bus services give easy access to almost anywhere in the Netherlands) the hotel is an even shorter walk from the north bank of the Nederrijn with its shady walks and numerous restaurants. Very handy as there is no restaurant at any IHG Express. As I arrived mid-morning the room was not ready but the staff (more about them later) were happy to store my case until I returned that afternoon (and again after checkout before leaving on an afternoon train). The room itself was a good size with a large comfortable bed, a functional desk and chair and a comfortable chair. Air conditioning kept the temperature stable and the lighting was good - not the ”fashionable” near darkness of some. Bathroom was good with a spacious shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Coffee and tea available. Breakfast is the only meal offered and is a fairly basic standard european offering. Meats, eggs and cheeses were adequate, yoghurt good, fresh fruit salad very good indeed. Coffee was machine provided and good with a variety of offerings. No hot options (standard with the Express brand) and I did not try any of the other cold choices. Although fairly centrally located with easy access to shops and all the usual facilities and infrastructure the room was quiet and peaceful. An Albert Heijn mini-supermarket opposite attracted small groups in the evening but was not a bother - indeed very useful for an occasional small purchase. All standard and as expected for the brand so why mark it excellent? I will come back to the staff who were unfailingly excellent - helpful, cheery and friendly (though never less than professional) and recognised me by the end of day 1. A credit to the hotel and its management. This is now my first choice when next in the vicinity

I don't know when I've been a hooker, Van der Valk is always good, so a 5-star review.

Overall good, close to the company, will choose this hotel next time on business trip.

My wife and I are in Wageningen three times a year, and we always stay at the Hotel de Wereld. We have been doing this for years. I think I can safely say that time in and time out that the customer service we receive from basically everyone at this small hotel is world class. The hotel itself is clean, has a warm, inviting feel, and the rooms are quite comfortable. The location is super convenient--right on the edge of the main part of the town, with all the shops and restaurants no more than a five minute walk away. A short walk up the road gets you to two beautiful arboretums. Plus, you can check out the major historical significance of the hotel while there. If you are going to Wageningen, stay here.

Het hotel is werkelijk prachtig. Mooie entree, vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk gegeten. Maar toen de lift open ging, viel onze mond open. De 1e zat vol gepropt met asiel zoekers. Allemaal op badslippers en blote voeten. De 2e lift ook vol met asiel zoekers met dekens en allemaal troep. Het rook enorm in de lift. Wij gingen mee en stopte op de 3e. Daar stond een hele menigte asielzoekers te wachten. Achteraf hoorde wij van personeel ,dat verdieping 3, 4 en 5 vol zitten. Heel erg vreemd, dat deze mensen de hele dag 2 liften in beslag nemen. Sorry, maar ons zie je niet meer bij vd Valk. Zowiezo is Duiven erg duur. Maar dan verwacht ik wel iets anders!!!
