Ocean Sands Motel

This place has been demolished and will soon be a TIKI bar called "The Point". They have one in sea isle and somers point. So long hotel from another age. I heard many good and bad stories about it through the years but it was time to move on as it was old.

BED BUGS eww, woke up to find my son had been bitten by bed bugs and we even had one to show the office, as well as blood stains on the sheets. i freaked out. the lady in the office and Armando the maintenance man were awesome. The owner, Patty, was not. She told me we could have free trash bags to put our things in to check out. She refused to accommodate us and told us we were checking out anyway, and there was no protocol to deal with anything like this. it was horrible! she acted like it as no big deal. on top of it, the ice machine was broken for over a year, and there was food left in the fridge when we checked in. and no bedding, wondering now if the people before us left in a hurry!!!!

As we checked in to the motel, we noticed that the beach and board walk were close to the motel which was a pro but as we walked into our room there were many cons that overrode the walk to the beach. When we entered the room we noticed that there was no bedding on the beds other then a thin sheet as we were looking over the room we found 2 small blankets folded off to the side, as we continued to look we noticed the barroom was very out dated, toilet tilted, holes in wall, rust in shower ext. The water was very hard to work with due to the very high water pressure in the sink it shot up and soaked the bathroom floor, we placed a towel on the floor when we then realized we were only provided with 3 towels with 4 girls staying for 4 days isn’t reasonable, as we unpacked we noticed our feet were extremely dirty before even leaving the room to go explore the board walk we continued to try to ignore the dirtiness but our feet were absolutely discussing after washing our feet multiple times during the night we got tired of it and i took one of the smaller towels provided and with just water the dirt that came off of the floor was completely discusting. After we settled the floor issue we looked at the bed and noticed some bugs crawling around the bed, we were completely discussed and very greatful we brought sheets from home. We decided to not unpack our clothes in the drawer due to other dirtiness in different parts of the hotel, after going a day without unpacking the room became messy so I took another small cloth to the drawers and same result, crumbs, small particles, sand ext. Walk to the board walk and beach were appreciated greatly.
