Yarra Valley Grand Hotel

Breakfast was very poor.

It’s quite centrally located and there’s a bar just right below the stay. Room has bath tub, and looks very grand. However overall hotel is quite old. 1. Car park has lots of potholes, must drive super carefully to avoid them. Car park location is not ideally located, we have to park outside the hotel at the door step unload and park at the car park 2. No lift so we have to climb the stairs with our heavy luggages 3. Aircon is abit old as well, gives off sounds in the middle of the night.

This Heritage listed hotel built in 1888 provides good old world accommodation in the Yarra Valley region. It is a great base from which to explore the many attractions on offer. The staff are friendly and the restaurant offers a varied menu for both dinner and breakfast.

I apologize for this delayed review, as we had a fabulous time here! Our Hosts and staff were brilliant and so accommodating from beginning to end! We stayed for a long weekend in September 2023 to accommodate our large family staying for my sons wedding in the area. The accommodation was terrific and catered for all family members with the separate Managers House perfect for families, and the balcony rooms grouped around the upstairs balcony, perfect for chats with a lovely leafy view. The rooms are substantial with lovely outlooks and comfortable beds. The Tower suite has amazing views of the district, over 3 levels! The ambiance of the entire hotel is lovely with amazing decor throughout, and caters to all interests. Whether it be friendly pool competitions in the front bar, afternoon tea in the tea rooms, playground entertainment, watching the footy on the big screen, or watching the world go by from the front balcony. Excellent coffees and fresh pastries were enjoyed with breakfast. Great food and service! A brilliant location in the Yarra Valley!

To be honest, our stay was curtailed by a water supply issue. We were told the water would be off for 4 hours so we found another hotel and checked out before our first night. Andrew was very helpful and sympathetic to our plight and arranged a full refund. As to the hotel itself, it was not as Grand as the name suggested. A bit run down and in need of a refurb. Staff (in particular Andrew) were excellent though.

Beautiful old venue, it was clean and the food was superb. Well presented young staff. Hotel rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was a bonus! Would absolutely stay again.

Very happy with our 1 night stay. We stayed here as we had a wedding at acacia ridge winery which is a 6min drive away. Customer service was wonderful. Room was perfect with all the amenities needed. We even got a continental breakfast which was delicious. Thankyou for a great stay.

Really great service, a lovely and friendly environment and delicious food. All 8 people in our party loved their meals. Very generous serves and priced very well. An array of seating and dining options. Highly recommend and we will be back.
