Matilda Hotel

Kalimera. The hotel is about 2-3 stars at best. The food is ok-ish Breakfast consists on the exact same thing every morning. If you like every day scrambled eggs, bacon, mini brusketti...you might be ok. Dinner is a little bit better, but it really could be very good and the variety could be there...or not, and you might end up eating salad with feta. It really depends on the day/your luck/how picky you are. The rooms I did not like One had a small wierd tub that you could not even stand in because you could slip any second and break something The staff was ok. Overworked if you ask me, the cleaning ladies during the day were serving meals during dinner. The woman in reception is a typical sales person trying to talk you out of things or into things as it suits her. The beach It does not have a beach, "their beach" is filled with rocks and you can not go swimming barefoot. You might also see some garbage here and there that the water might bring. So its a very "wild and virgin" beach, it might be good for you if you want peace and quiet and an entire "beach" all to yourself. The closest beaches are the Porto Zorro and Porto Azzurro which are like 1 beach actually, but divided into 2 separate areas. (I recommend the last one for its cleanliness, better bathrooms and overall feel). The food is pretty great at both, no complaint here. It's @15 minutes walk to these but you will have to be careful, there are no sidewalks, no pedestrian care at all, you have to walk on the road so be careful of cars, busses etc. General location There are no stores, no markets, no nothing in the area. You have to walk @1.5-2km for the closest village (Vasilikos) where you find stores, pharmacy, a** etc. Or call a taxi which will cost you @10 euros for trip from the hotel to the supermarket. If you have a car, rented or personal, you are all set. Overall impression If you are like me, pretty active, and only really spend the night there, to sleep, and most of the day you are out visiting or on the beach, it might be a good bargain if you get a decent room. It has a decent pool which is really the only point that i can consider in the pros category. If given the chance i would definitely not go there again.

Our stay at Hotel Matilda was nothing short of exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was memorable and comfortable. As we were checking out early in the morning, the team surprised us with a thoughtful gesture - they prepared delicious sandwiches, provided refreshing water, and even included some sweet treats for our journey back home. Their genuine kindness and attentiveness truly touched our hearts. The level of care and consideration they showed us made our departure smooth and delightful. This kind of personalized service sets Hotel Matilda apart and creates a lasting impression. We're grateful for their warm hospitality and can't wait to return to this remarkable establishment in the future.

The hotel is spacious and has a lovely view of the sea. As for the location and environment, I recommend it to families with children because it is in a very quiet part of the island. The nearest set-up beach is a 15-minute walk from the hotel, so renting a car or an ATV is recommended. But the hotel's most valuable asset is its staff, who made us feel welcome and treated us with such kindness. They are exceptional hosts. A special thank you to Stella, Nardi, Andrea, Kledi, and the entire bar and restaurant staff. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

All the staff were brilliant. They where very welcoming , from reception, bar staff Lovely place to have a vacation, the pool area was nice , the hotel was very organised really nice place , if you’re looking for relaxing holiday this is the place . They where very helpful calling us taxis , they where all just brilliant

Staying at this hotel was a pleasure. The room had a private balcony and the air conditioning provided a comfortable environment. I appreciated the convenience of the telephone and the refrigerator in the room. Definitely I will come again next summer!

From the moment I arrived I was impressed with the exceptional service and the convenient amenities offered. One of the standout features of this hotel is their car rental service. The process was seamless and hassle-free, allowing me to explore the city at my own pace. In terms of cleanliness, the rooms were immaculate. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout my stay.

Nice hotel, nice sea view from the balcony, nice people and a perfect vacay! The working staff was very profi and with a positive and great energy, especially Stella, Kledi, Nardi, Andrea and Roberta. It's a quiet area, but if you wanna have fun, there's a lot of activities you can do it during the days or nights. For that, is necessary to rent a car and everything will be perfect! The island is absolutely wonderful! I recommend this place... and I could come back here someday!

If you ever want to travel to Zakynthos, I highly recommend Matilda Hotel. The location is amazing! You are close to city and really cool beaches (with sand, pebbles, forest, private and wild - you choose!), but, at the same time, the location is secluded, private, silent. Thus, you can avoid the crowded and noisy places whenever you want, but without having to give up the possibility to go there. The accommodation is amazing. REALLY awesome staff, always ready to help you, always smiling. They helped us with everything - car rental, locations to visit, restaurants, even with a medical appoin**ent (the doctor also said that Matilda is the best hotel in the area!). On some days, they even had Greek Night, free of charge. Just to offer an amazing experience to the tourists. Spacious and clean rooms, clean resort, AMAZING view wherever you look. We booked a standard room and we still had a glimpse of the sea. It came equipped with everything you needed, even a safe box. The food was tasty and non-repetitive. There wasn't too many options, but they were more than enough for everyone's taste (even for vegetarians). A piece of advice for everyone visiting Zakynthos: beware of the hot weather in July (38 celsius - it was hotter than other places in Greece I visited) and rent some way of transportation for the whole stay, because the island is rocky and you have to climb everywhere you go. And, of course, choose Matilda. You won't regret it. We will definitely come back soon.

The best vacation I ever had. Truely Matilda Hotel was the best place we stayed at. The staff is amazing, so friendly and helpful. It was such a special feeling, so cosy. Truely a greek experience with the music, the good vibes, smiley faces. Food is alright, it's amazing that they include breakfast and dinner. The room was very very clean and spacious! The view is amazing! From our room we could see the sea. Also, if you have dinner there you can see the sun set over the sea. Absolutely gorgeous! The location is great as well, close to Argassi but also private. I highly recommend it for how great the staff is, for the location and for feeling like you are surrounded by the warmest people on earth.
