Ionion Blue Hotel Zante

We stayed at Ionion Blue Hotel for 10 nights in September 2023 and had a wonderful time. The rooms were spotless, beautiful bathroom and huge balcony! The cleaners did a fantastic job. Some parts are a little outdated but still very comfortable and practical! We had the bed and breakfast option, breakfast wasn’t to our taste so didn’t eat much in the mornings. The staff were always pleasant and said good morning etc, however you could tell the regulars as they were very friendly with them! One point for us was that there wasn’t someone regularly at reception, just every now and again there was a lady there. We sometimes had to go down to the bar to ask questions or for any assistance if needed. Some music around the pool during the day would have added to the atmosphere but that’s personal choice! The location is absolutely spot on. Only a minutes walk from the main ***** but quiet enough that you get a good nights rest. Very close to the beach and shops as well. Great selection of drinks and snacks at the bar and the gyros and cocktails were amazing! All in all had an amazing holiday and enjoyed our stay at Ionion Blue! Thank you!

Hotel was lovely , however we were there the last 2 weeks of the season. Put me off and will never go back due to the way guests were treated in the last few days. Come back one night with kids running riot around the corridors and very noisy. The hotel seemed to be let out for a party. They removed the beds, sunshades and seating around the hotel 3 days before we left and they were never put back. Breakfast was plastic eggs as no one seemed to be able to cook a simple egg. The hotel was running out of food and drinks and the manager and staff did not care less. The last day of the holiday, they decided to cut off the water to the rooms. Never again. Manager and staff, you should be ashamed of the way your guests were treated.

The hotel itself to look at is beautiful. The pool area was inviting and clean. The staff were friendly and great food and drinks at the bar. My room was clean and spacious. The only thing is there was no seperation between the shower and bathroom so water would get everywhere. The only thing that spoilt it was because they were closing the day we left, they started closing down the hotel 3 days before. Breakfast was minimal, they closed the games room for children, they removed seats from the pool area. Our water was turned off the say we left so was very hard to use toilets and have a wash. This all made us feel unwelcome. There was also a private kids party one night which closed off the bar area. It was very noisy and we were not informed about this. If you are planning on visiting this hotel do not do it at end of season.

We visited the Ionion Blue last year and enjoyed it so much went again this year. One lovely hotel with all you could wish for. Great rooms, great bar / restaurant area, clean and tidy and in a perfect location in the Zakynthos countryside. Five minite walk to the ***** if that's what you like and a five minute walk to either Kalamaki Beach or a ten minute walk to the gorgeous Crystal Beach. If the beach isn't your thing the pool here looks lovely with plenty of sunbeds to use also. The lunchtime menu here is amazing too. We prefer the beach so didn't use the pool. Plentiful breakfasts here too with a good selection of food to suit everyone. We loved our stay here so many thanks for looking after us with car hire etc.... 10 stars from me.

Amazing hotel in a brilliant area close to all the restaurants and bars. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff are amazing a big thank you to Tetta. Marcelo. Maria and Dennis and all the other staff. Our first time in Kalamaki and would definitely be returning. We will be back next year 🥰 xx

3rd time to Ionian blue. Ideal location for beach and restaurants. Lovely staff , no issues with getting sun beds around pool. Hotel clean and tidy. Fully recommend this hotel for a stay in Kalimaki

The staff was friendly and the service provided was excellent. I liked everything, the only thing a bit odd was the daily charge for air conditioner in the room.

You have to pay for AC!? $10 a day! I have never heard of that crap in my life. Other than that, it was cool.

We stayed 14 nights and on arrival we payed around €220 for the aircon the safe and tourist tax although I feel this is steep luckily we did our research and budgeted for this I do feel some if not all of this should be included in the price of the holiday it wasn’t cheap by any means but hey ho we had upgraded to a superior room it was bottom floor which was nice and modern a bit ruff in places if you look close enough overall a nice room and the beds were really comfortable it could have been cleaner it wasn’t filthy but could’ve been better like cob webs on ceilings lamps etc there was a toe nail in the bathroom we didn’t raise this with the hotel and just dealt with it our selves, the aircon was nice and cold but it cut out during the night with a fault code which I googled and was something to do with the aircon gas but we went to reception they gave us the €10 euros back for the night and apparently fixed the aircon it wasn’t fixed they just reset it but this didn’t cure the problem again the next night I woke dripping in sweat the aircon had cut out again with the same fault showing we complained again and they said it was our fault for messing with the settings now forgive me if I’m wrong but surly you have a remote with various settings on it so you can set the aircon to your liking but like I say this was our fault apparently so we didn’t complain again as we didn’t feel like we could after that and after that I didn’t change the settings again just turned it on or off when required but still every night with out fail the aircon cut out with the same fault showing I had to turn it off and leave it 10 mins to get it to reset and work again I had to do this 2 sometimes 3 times a night which was very frustrating, the shower was brilliant, over night we would leave our wet clothes and towels on the balcony wall to dry and we woke to find the clothes soaking wet as we were on the ground floor the Balcony/room is sunk in the ground so the balcony wall sits just above the grass level I assumed maybe there was a sprinkler system to water the grass so I started making sure before bed I removed clothes but if clothes weren’t left on the walls the walls were left dry I asked 1 of the bar staff if there was a sprinkler system or if someone walked around with a hose pipe to water the grass which he confirmed there was no sprinkler system so basically who ever watered our grass found it funny to absolutely soke our clothes and towels if we forgot to remove them over night, The pool and bar area was nice and clean the bar staff were really friendly breakfast which was included was ok the cooked side wasn’t great the bacon and sausage was average at best but there was plenty of other options pancakes pastries fruit cerial basically it was all good other than the sausage and bacon, the hotel it’s self is in an amazing location 5 min walk to the ***** and you are bang in the middle of and 10 mins walk to the beach also it’s bang next door to D and Bs whi
