Whenever I have to sleep in Zurich, I always try in the first place to find a bed at the Plattenhof Hotel. I feel at home there. The staff is always friendly, and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable, the materials used are first class, as are the beds. I always look forward to sleeping there

While the bed was very comfy, I had expected more in terms of design. Cables hanging from the TV and the white furniture combined with white walls and white curtains did not create a pleasant atmosphere. Staff was very friendly, and the downstairs bar looked nice.

I stayed 3 nights from Friday to Monday . The main purpose of my visit was to visit the Zurich Opera and Theater. Before arrival I informed the hotel about my diet ( gluten-free and cow milk lactose free). I loved having breakfast in the Art deco decorated room, which is a restaurant during the week but closed at weekend. There were a good choice of gluten-free bread available but no yogurt or cheese made of any thing else than cow milk. They didnot care to buy probably be a use at the weekend there are young temporary helpers around. The room had well designed bathroom, but no storage place at all and was too small for staying 3 days. It got very easy messy. I could not really pack out. The old design lamps donot give a good light. The iron I got to iron my Opera dress, was an old small travell iron, where the water splashed out of it under ironing movements all the time. The university district is interesting , but it is on the Zurichberg , and it is a long walk down the hill to the opera Hause at Zurich Sea, you donot want take in your high heels and long dress. A taxi drives cost 20 CHF❣️ I am afraid I cannot recommend the hotel for an Opera trip or for a stay more than 1 night.

Nice hotel, quite modern and clean. Polite, friendly staff. Location close to the center if you don't mind walking 15 minutes uphill. The major problem we had was the lack of air conditioning. There were hot days (34⁰C) and nights (23-24⁰C) and we hardly could sleep. The hotel can provid fans, but in our case it didn't help. Breakfast was good. Parking was very expensive (25 SFR).

Nice hotel, staff, atmosphere and breakfast. Our room was spacious, clean and nice. Excellent setting two minutes from tramstop. Only drawback that our room was also noisy because we, due to the summer heat and no aircon, had to sleep with open windows.

Great location, which was close enough to walk from the station (or trammable 6 stops on the no.6) and quiet, with good transport links. Robert on reception was helpful from the moment we arrived in sweltering heat offering us a cold drink (ice cold water with a lemon that actually tasted of lemon!) through to check out. Comfortable room. Not massive, but sizeable enough with a sparkling clean bathroom and huge shower. Very nice stay!

Very happy! Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Modern, generous shower, space to open our suitcases and comfortable beds / bedding. Coffee, Nespresso and Tea making available in our room. A good selection of breakfast options. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Easy to get to by jumping on the No 6 tram in the direction of the Zoo, from Zurich Bahnhof, for a few stops, to "Platte", then a short walk. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel on a good location (quiet but close to downtown/old town). Very nice staff and great on site restaurant.
