The two queen beds in the room is smaller than expected (we measured the two beds at 150cm x 188cm) The rooms and inside the hotel can be cleaner as it is a “5 star” hotel. The food at Thai Restaurant is normal (nothing special). The salad bar at the morning buffet is good. I think the location is good. The parking lot is far…. You might have to walk 5 minutes back to the front entrance if the parking spots at the front are taken (usually are and we went during low season). Overall, this hotel offers its services and products like a 4 star hotel rather than “5 stars”.

We stayed at Ximen Hotel 西門大飯店 located at 78號2樓, Section 1, Zhonghua Rd, Wanhua District, Taipei City. First, I want to commend the front office staff, especially the lady at the reception. Even though English is quite challenging in Taiwan, she was still very nice, polite, and helpful. When we arrived early, she gladly let us leave our luggage safely, which we really appreciated. Now for the room, we stayed in a standard room it was okay, not that big, but clean enough. However, there’s no side table, which made it a bit inconvenient when charging our gadgets or placing small items. My main issue was the pillow it was small, quite hard, and only one per person. I requested an extra pillow, but the front staff came to my door and told me it was not available, which honestly disappointed me, especially since we stayed for 4 days. Also, they didn’t replenish the coffee during our stay. It’s a small thing, but details like that do make a difference for guests. Overall, the service from the staff was great, but the comfort and room amenities could really be improved.

The place is very clean and well maintained, which makes the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. The environment feels neat and welcoming, and it’s clear that hygiene is taken seriously. The view is also a big highlight — it’s pleasant, relaxing, and adds to the overall atmosphere. On top of that, the pricing is very reasonable for what you get. The quality and experience easily match the cost, making it great value for money. Overall, it’s a good choice if you’re looking for a clean place with a nice view at a fair price.

The biggest public spaces and amenities I have ever seen in hostel level. Shared food kitchen, laundry, and showering room are all in first floor. The location is great with 5-10 minutes walk required to get to downtown Taitung.

Will visit again, best hotel in Tainan. Room is spacious, clean, noice reduction is legit, and you have a Bluetooth speaker in the room!

Amazing hotel! Renovated in 2023 and you can see the attention to detail in the new theme. It’s a jungle theme that gives mandarin oriental vibes. Great for family. They have a newly renovated play room for all ages. Very pretty. 10/10

Location is super convenient, opposite Sanchong station. There are some shops nearby, though need to walk further for other eateries. The hotel has a robot that can send your food deliveries to your room directly. The room is spacious and clean, but there is only one pillow. For extra pillows, you have to go down to collect.

We stayed 5 days in Taichung for our pre-wedding shoot, and the location couldn’t be more convenient. Just a 10-minute walk to Wernar Wedding, and everything else we wanted to explore was nearby. Morning strolls to Third Market for breakfast, a sweet stop at Miyahara for ice cream, a fun baking session at the Sun Cake Museum, and night walks to Yizhong Market for food. Loved how walkable everything was! The only bad thing is that there is not enough space to open luggage.

A little difficult to get to, but worth the hike! Ocean view is as advertised, and amazing to wake up to. However the renovated room might be challenging to travelers who would prefer to have a separate bathroom stall. The toilet and bath are open concept and connected to the living room making it quite awkward for couples.
