Old Man Captain Hostel is in an unbeatable location—right in front of TRA Tainan Station, making it super convenient for travelers. However, the entrance is a bit tricky to find as it’s inside the FamilyMart by the station, so it took me a while to figure out how to get in. There’s also a Ubike station nearby, which makes exploring the city really easy. The staff were friendly and spoke English well, which made check-in and general communication smooth. As for the dormitory, the beds were pretty basic, and the room itself was quite small. It wasn’t exactly dirty, but it wasn’t particularly clean either. If you’re just looking for a place to crash for a night or two, it does the job, but don’t expect anything fancy. Overall, a good option for budget travelers who prioritize location over comfort.

It was neat and sufficient. Perfect for solo traveller who needs a place to rest one's weary head.  I felt safe and adequately catered for.  It is not for someone who seeks luxury.  It makes you realise one doesn't require much to have a reasonable rest.  The price is un-beatable. 

All good 😊 I stayed at old door hostel for 3 nights and it such a good place for solo traveller. I booked 4 bed female room and it's so nice and comfortable. Bed is so soft and there's some space for your luggage between bed and curtains. It keeps you private when you want to rest. I have a good time there. Staff are so kind and supportive. Corn omelette for breakfast is good 👍

My 2nd time staying here. Very convenient location, especially if you plan to take the bus from Taipei Bus Station to the airport or to other cities. I had some issues with the online staff’s attitude (the staff was a bit rude regarding my request), but the on-site staff was actually very friendly and helpful. I booked a 6-bed dorm and was lucky enough to have the whole room to myself on that day. New facilities, clean hostel, clean bathroom and good-sized room. Will stay there again.

Conveniently located near the MRT, Kaohsiung Train Station, and not far from the night market. Breakfast is provided every morning. Will definitely choose this accommodation again!

有電梯的背包客棧，生活機能健全，對面就是7-11。交誼廳一應俱全，很受歡迎，隨時有人杵在那兒。位于民權路與台灣大道中間，離火車站也不遠，公共交通便利。人生第一次入住八人房居然全滿。

Ortam temiz, düzenli ve rahat, personel ise güler yüzlü. Kediler çok sevimli ve yakınlarda, Hai'an Yolu üzerindeki yer altı otoparkı da dahil olmak üzere, park yeri bulmak kolay. Yiyecek, içecek ve eğlence seçeneklerinin hepsi yakınlarda mevcut ve daha uzak bölgeler için Ubick kiralama seçenekleri de mevcut.

這次訂了同事推薦的美好行旅，本來想定背包房但單人房也差不了多少錢就訂了單人房，女生專用行旅很安全，位於漢口路走去西門町也很近。第一次看到衛浴跟廁所做在一起的，好處是洗到一半想上廁所就可上，但缺點是每間都有人在洗澡的話上廁所就要等。 剛好我的房間對面大樓在施工，所以早晚多少都會聽到施工的聲音，房間是中央空調不能自己調整，風速有點大坐在出風口的書桌很冷。

I’d have given 5-star if I only stayed for less than a week. However, I was visiting family and friends and stayed for 19 nights. Any lodging shows its flaws (no matter how few or small) after that long time. The major complaint I have is the laundry service, specifically the dryer. It’s a really low-temp dryer without higher-temp settings. Luckily, there is a laundromat just a block away with most advanced machines.
