Wang's Shadow Puppy Culture Theme Hotel

Fantastic hotel in the Hutong area and ultra convenient to top attractions and a street full of live music bars and cafes! The shadow puppetry theme went beyond hotel's decor, they actually hold free shows 3 nights a week, followed by a detailed introduction and even workshops for those interested! Very interesting and unique! Particular shout outs to the very warm and helpful staff, including Tom, Xuan Xuan, and Anise. They were most helpful in giving us tips and advice that greatly enhanced our Beijing experience. Kudos to them! Also thank Joycelyn for her help and assistance with the puppetry purchase! Bought a piece that we love!

I absolutely loved the Shadow Puppetry aspect of this hotel. They do performances every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 8pm. Even though I don't speak Chinese, I really enjoyed the performances and the demonstrations of the history and logistics of the puppets. I also got to paint my own puppets after the show (for an extra fee), which I loved. Really friendly staff and beautiful décor. It would have been nice to have some more natural light in my room and the walk back to the hotel was pretty dark at night and away from the main street, which I would have preferred to avoid as a solo female traveller. However, all of this was made clear when booking the hotel, so they set clear expectations and made it a memorable and comfortable stay. Would recommend!

Nice hotel, decent location in Hutongs and a short walk to Houhai Park. Puppet shows are of course a highlight and very nice. Seemed quite family friendly. Pretty clean room, comfy bed. Mine came with a bathrobe and slippers which was a nice bit of extra luxury. Good value for a night or two in Beijing.

Amazing artsy hotel. Exceptional hospitality. The hotel is in an old and charming house managed by Shadow Art puppet performing artists. They are so friendly and passionate about the art and spread the art.. The performance at night provides a delightful and unique art atmosphere to relax as well. Will definitely come back.

在地下一層，衞生不怎麼樣，主要是前台服務愛理不搭的，聽説***都這樣

前台服務態度很一般 房間很小 牆面很臟

The interor of the Hotel is beautiful and sylish and I would stay here again ! The room furniture is older but bedding and towels are new and nice. Bed is very comfortable. Loved the puppet theme ! Loved the area- good if you want to be right in the middle of a chinese neighborhood. The one thing that needs improving is reception staff. They need training how to welcome the guests and need to be more proactive. I saw coffee and tea near reception and looked at the coffee machine a few times but did not know how to work it and no staff ever offered help. But all in all nice good value Hotel.
