Hotel l'Acquale

Fantastic hotel and location. Lovely staff. Hotel facilities were really good and the room was excellent. Nice to have a secure car park, with just a simple stroll into the Citadel and water front. Thank you for a great stay.

This was our final hotel of a 9 day tour around Corsica with a group of Classic Cars. It seems we saved the best until last as I loved the feel of this spacious, modern and clean hotel. The staff were very attentive and polite. We were able to park our car in the underground garage for added security. Our room was lovely, with rear views over the pool and with the sea and Calvi Citadel in the distance. Beds very comfortable and modern bathroom with powerful shower. Convenient phone charging sockets at bedside is always a plus point. The pool was heated and easily accessible with a corner part having a jacuzzi within. In the evening we enjoyed a Tapas menu and I have to say that the waitress Lucy was amazing as she served our large group of 20 with a constant smile and boundless energy. Breakfast the next morning provided a wide range of buffet choices to suit all tastes. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again if/when we return to Calvi in Corsica.

Everything about the hotel was excellent. From the junior suite with sea view, to the wonderful breakfast, the rooftop bar, swimming pool area and of course all the wonderful friendly staff. This is a Corsican family owned hotel and they care deeply about customer satisfaction and it most definitely shows. We’d have absolutely no hesitation in recommending and would return in a heartbeat should we ever return to Calvi.

Service very good. All staff very accommodating. Everywhere in the Hotel very clean and to a high standard. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Would have been nice to have had the option of the ground floor bar later than 18:30.

I would highly recommend this hotel, the staff were all lovely and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome, there was a fantastic choice at breakfast and the hotel was spotlessly clean. the pool area was always well maintained, every area had a had a makeover 3 years ago and with the addition of a rooftop bar and restaurant. we had a sea view from our balcony which was lovely to wake up to.

Well positioned, only about 5-6 mins walk to the main area and about 10 mins to the foot of the Citadel, but still quietly situated. We were on the third floor and had a room with balcony and excellent views of the sea and Citadel. Room was sizeable and very well equipped. Outdoor pool and lounging area was also very good. The roof top bar was a real feature, offering tremendous views and some really good food and drink although in a much less pretentious, and more friendly, way than other hotels with similar facilities. Without exception, the staff were friendly, smiling and helpful - engaging with and acknowledging guests at ever opportunity; clearly well-trained and led. We would certainly recommend L'Acquale to anyone visiting Calvi. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Having settled on Calvi as a destination for our week in Corsica (me and two teen girls) Trip advisor reflected that Acquale was highly recommended (and the last review left was by someone from my home town!). Booking was easy and responsive by email, always friendly and helpful including airport transfers and table bookings. We arrived late evening and the room was ready and lovely. We settled into Acquale life quickly. Excellent breakfast - plentiful and good quality, and available a little beyond the strict end time. The pool is big enough but not too big and only about 30 sun beds altogether but always seemed to be enough (it was very quiet the first few days of our stay). We were nearly the only English guests - mainly French with some Germans most of the week. The rooms are cool, clean and lovely towels and robes, mini bar stocked and a big TV (hardly used!). The lift goes from the basement carpark (free parking) all the way to the stunning roof top bar. Booking for the bar is essential but sooo worth it - we were there for the gormet dinner for the festival of St Mary with spectacular fireworks. The view across Calvi is stunning. The food was lovely - tapas style, apparently there was a kids menu though I didnnt see it. Staff were so friendly, chatty, happy to help and pressed a little gift into our hands as we left - nice touch. I loved the family story in the welcome folder, explaining the name and also the family history. It did feel like a family hotel with an intimate feel. Highly recommend (as I do the whole of Calvi) - I hope to be back.

Excellent location, lovely grounds and pool area, stylish and comfortable, very clean, excellent amenities, small team of friendly, courteous, helpful staff with very hands on owners and senior management

We just finished the most amazing holiday staying here. This is such a lovely hotel, I couldn’t believe that it is not a 5 star hotel and only 4 as you are treated as though it is 5*! The interior design of the hotel and rooms is wonderful - brings a calming feeling as soon as you walk in. The staff are really fantastic here too - they make an effort to get to know you to ensure you are happy at all times. The terrace for drinks/ tapas is a great experience too - exceptional views of Calvi, excellent cocktails and wonderful food. If I could rate this hotel higher I would. I think this has become our favourite hotel in Europe so I cannot wait to visit again. You are only a 5min walk to the beach with crystal clear water, you could be in the Caribbean! If you do go to the beach, I’d suggest renting beds from Lido (with the straw umbrellas) and having your lunch there - a really great way to spend your day.
