Great welcome at the hotel from the entire team including Gift, Daud and Philip (french speaking). Great room, perfectly clean. Excellent breakfast buffet. We very much enjoyed the stay and we will come back! ..........................

Gift and the rest of the staff were amazingly welcoming to a wonderful boutique hotel, ideally located not far from any of the major attractions (e.g. Waterfront, Table Mountain, Camps Bay, etc). The breakfast with fresh fruit, coffee, baked goods, fresh breakfasts made to order in a beautiful setting were a great way to start each day. We also enjoyed the personalized dinner in a quiet setting as a perfect way to end a busy day of sight seeing. If we ever return, we will be sure to stay here again. We are especially thankful to the staff for providing such a nice welcome and comfortable stay.

Lovely hotel that is perfectly situated. From the moment you arrive to the end of your stay your experience is first class. Gift and the team go above and beyond to ensure your holiday is relaxing. Rooms are kept lovely and clean, with everything you may need. Outdoor pool, which we didn’t get to use as we were too busy sight seeing. Thank you to all the staff for a great start to our holiday!

This boutique hotel is a true gem! It is safe, secure, beautiful and has an ocean view. The staff is amazing, The rooms are big and beautifully decorated with a huge soaking tub. It’s small so you feel more like you’re at an estate than a hotel. The breakfast was incredible and the hot chocolate is to die for! Gift and his team are truly a gift to this hotel! The staff here were so welcoming and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed. Great breakfast buffet and afternoon tea provided each day. Rooms were clean and had modern furnishings, with some great artwork. Great location near Sea Point with easy access to V&A & Camps Bay.

We enjoyed a wonderful 6 day trip here which we thoroughly enjoyed. The room was delightful and we enjoyed the view from the balcony towards the sea and the mountain slopes. Yes, the bed was comfortable which is a huge criteria. The sweets on the bed were a lovely touch as was the wine and chocolates. The fridge was well stocked and there was water daily. Breakfast was fantastic. The staff rose to the challenge and cooked me my special and complicated omelette perfectly! There was also a delicious buffet each day with fruits, cheeses and breads, as well as the cooked options on the menu. We had lunch at the restaurant once, but we were out each day. Afternoon tea and scones are a highlight - do ask for the home cooked scones as the one day we had a shop-bought cake which was not the same! Nicky was delightful and a great hostess and the staff were genuinely 10/10. I felt quite sad when we left. The area felt quite safe and we even parked outside. We will definitely be back to stay and bring our family next time. It really is a wonderful place to stay. Thank you!

We had a slight mistiming with our penultimate guest house and ended up with one extra night to "kill" in Cape Town before flying home, after 3 amazing weeks in South Africa. With a random search we landed The Clarendon. What a gift that extra night was! Beautiful rooms (we had 2), beautiful grounds, and lovely pools... and a great location in a safe neighborhood near lots of great things. Quite a bit is walkable, including the beach (go left at the ocean until you see the tidal pool... that's the best option)... but there's also Uber a few minutes away at all times to take you wherever you want. Another family did a jog to Camps Bay and back, and were over the moon about it. They do have secure parking which was helpful for our final pack up before the flight too. But the real difference was the level of service. The guys that greeted us on day one, named Gift and Daud, were just fantastic. It's a lost art, in many places, that feeling of true 5-star service. Being in the hospitality business, tangentially, I know how rare it is to really have that sense that people will do anything to make your visit as good as it can be, if there's any way they possibly can. This team did that... Gift, Daud, and others whose names I forget... and we had more than a few atypical asks. Everything was possible, and everything was done right, and at every moment we felt we were in really good hands. The only negative is that the grounds and pools and staff were so welcoming that we didn't bother to go explore... we just relaxed, kicked back and read a bit... soaked up a little sun before returning to cooler weather. We did go out to dinner on what was, in effect, a Friday night... thanks to "Gift" flexing his muscles we were able to get a last-minute reservation at a very popular restaurant, and had a delicious final supper at a great table. We will intentionally make the same "mistake" next year, and maybe add a few nights... just loved everything about our stay.

Excellent staycation location. Friendly attentive staff. Delish breakfasts! In the heart of the Atlantic seaboard. Comfy and cozy. Love the pool area to relax and the complimentary tea and cake in the afternoons! Great for a romantic getaway but also kid friendly.
