"The attic room was extremely noisy, with a lot of wind; those with poor sleep quality should avoid it. There were no toothbrushes, the toilet seat was broken, and the minibar wasn't free at all, making it very poor value for money. Its only advantage was its excellent location in a very safe area. Breakfast was basically just white food like toast, yogurt, cereal, and fruit. The service was mediocre; the bellhops took our tip after unpacking our luggage and then let us carry it out ourselves – ridiculous! 😅 I was on my period and wanted to rest a bit longer, so we agreed to check out late and pay later, but they said I had to pay for half a day's stay and only until 3 pm – outrageous! They even called to urge me while I was packing."

The hospitality was unsurpassed - Jordi, the fantastic manager, ensured that everything ran perfectly smoothly and went out of his way to meet our needs. The food we ate there was wonderful and lovely Molly baked the most delicious cakes, and thoughtfully always with dairy free options for me (I have an allergy). All of the staff were just so lovely and warm. The rooms were spacious and the views just stunning. Thank you all for giving us such a special stay with you."

I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Cape Town, and definitely suggest renting a car as Uber can be quite pricey there. Also, remember to bring a 3-pin international adapter; the hotel sells them but they're very expensive!"

"What a great funky style hotel in Gardens Cape atown. BlackBrick has done it again...turned a disused office block into a New York style hotel designed for young and old alike. Whether a business person or a tourist, the apartment style living gives you multiple options. And of course the view is a dream. The lift was crazy as it has two sides...that's not the funniest it stops on 2 floors ... one indicating East and one West. I'm curious to talk to the engineer who had to design that...the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because there were no plugs next to the bed to charge my phone and it had to be charged in the kitchen area. I have children who live across the world and like to be available at all times to them that was the only draw back so bring an extension cord when you visit. Small price to pay for a great spot "

"PERFECT! This place is indescribable. I can only recommend Kommetje as a place to every guest who wants to relax on the beach at the end of their trip, because that's exactly what you can do here. Long Beach is incredibly beautiful and you can watch surfers and swimmers all day long, take great walks on the beach, etc. The accommodation itself is a dream come true. The staff are extremely friendly, especially Brandon and Jacqueline. The view from the terrace, the tasteful furnishings, the excellent food (breakfast & dinner) and the great room complete the stay. 2 nights are not enough here if you want to enjoy the accommodation, the beach and the surrounding area. "
