Went for a meal at the Bridge restaurant for my birthday and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. There were five of us, and we managed to sample most of the menu. The service was top-notch, and we felt well looked after. To start, I had the smoked salmon which was absolutely delicious. For my main, I had the Cumbrian dry aged chateaubriand, which was cooked to perfection and came with a delicious horseradish mash. The others had the duck breast and the halibut, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The desserts were really nice, both visually and in taste. I went for the dark chocolate & peanut butter fondant, which was divine. My Mam had the vanilla panna cotta with macerated strawberries and said it was lovely. Overall, it was a fantastic meal, and I would highly recommend The Bridge restaurant at The Fleece for a special occasion or just a lovely evening out.

We ate at the Fleece several times in the past couple of years and previously always found the food OK and the service terrible . That’s why we hadn’t been back since September 2023. Tonight we decided to give it another try and we were absolutely delighted - the service was good , the staff professionally trained, the food was outstanding and the prices very reasonable . Well done to the management for turning it around; the premises and the ambience were always exceptional and the staff and food now match it .

We went for an evening meal in their Bridge restaurant. It was excellent. The food was excellent. There were four of us and we all ordered different dishes and we were all very impressed. The staff were professional and friendly. There was an Australian girl serving us who was lovely. Also a guy who was very pleasant. Would definitely recommend it

We went for Sunday lunch today. Starter pate was fine. Lovely surroundings. The main roast beef was full of fat. When we were asked if all was ok I hadn’t looked at the beef under the top bit. I complained when they came for the plates as almost half the meat was on my plate. We will tell chef is all I got. It was £18 for a main so should have been good. You no longer get cauli cheese that’s a paid extra and the roast potatoes were dry. When the bill arrived it was full charge. When I queried it the waitress said I’m not allowed to knock anything off. A lady potentially a supervisor then said we don’t get complaints. I reiterated my concerns. She said I will sort something out next time. I said can you put that on a card please. No email me. Her attitude and obvious disregard for customer service was beyond belief. We won’t be emailing or coming back. Shocking service.

Stopped off after visiting Carlisle for the weekend. The food was amazing, every course was delicious and nicely prepared. Couldn’t fault our visit, lovely friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. Definitely worth a visit. Will be back next month

We were there for Sunday lunch after a family christening. The lunch was fine, however my wife went to the bar for a glass of chardonnay (175ml) with ice and soda. She was charged £14 which she thought was expensive. She mentioned this to the barman but he replied something about the soda, it was busy at the time so she just paid. She sent an email to the hotel the next day to query the price but is still waiting for a reply. She understands that there is nothing that can be done now but would have expected a response to her query. We stayed two nights there last year for a family wedding and we didn't think that the bar prices were too bad then.

Location perfect for Cumbria or a stop off the M6 Rooms immaculate Public areas very nice - a large library to have tea in, a bar restaurant and a fine dining restaurant Food in bar restaurant just excellent - great menu and fab presentation Breakfast cooked to order Dog friendly place Best bit - staff….. EVERYONE was friendly helpful and efficient. Had to stay an extra night following a hospitalisation of my wife in the middle of the night - team were so helpful and supportive

We were invited to the opening night of the Bridge Restaurant, to say that the food was amazing is an understatement, I have never had as many different flavours with food, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves there food as this was no ordinary meal Just Anazing 110%

We stayed with friends May 24. The whole experience was first class from start to finish - every member of staff were pleasant and nothing was a bother. - rooms were extremely comfortable , bathroom fabulous and food was delicious. We cannot wait to return it was outstanding.
