The environment is very good, the room is large, the breakfast and dining place is too narrow, there are few places, there is free parking, there is a golf course nearby, and it is close to 17 miles. The hotel is like a townhouse, very comfortable, recommend it.

Five stars! From the moment we walked in -- and the front desk team poured us wine and lemonade and gave our children seeds to plant in the garden -- we knew we would love this hotel. The pool was beautiful and warm, even in February. Our kids loved playing bocce ball on the lawn. Our valley villa suite was huge and comfortable, with a fireplace on the balcony. And the whole stay was full of surprises and delights -- a complimentary mini bar with cheese, crackers and wine; plush striped towels by the pool; bottles of water at the valet; toffee chocolates at turn-down. Everyone was so warm and welcoming; we felt like we were staying with family. My children are already begging to come back, and my little one cried when we left. When you book hotels online, it's always hard to tell what the vibe is (will it feel suburban and bland? or cheesy and scene-y? or magical and fun?) -- and I can reassure you, Bernardus is the kind of wonderful, magical place you will love and want to return to for years. xoxo

I can't pick words how great it is.. but I want to provide details. First and foremost. we stayed 1 night on May 18, we got room 328, this is a suite with fantastic location and it is very very quiet. I and my wife celebrated 22 years of our first date and initially we wanted to pick Ritz in Half Moon bay but we decided to give this place a try.. and oh boy - we will never go back to Ritz. 1. Hospitality. staff is awesome. reception is the most welcome and I want to say - naturally welcome. Very smiley. 2. Valley Kitchen restaurant is fantastic and I can't find another word. it is probably the best restaurant in Carmel. it has a European charm I absolutely love. We dined and had a breakfast. both were great. 3. ”Little things matter the most”. you know what I do not like? it is a extra charge for cappuccino if you take buffet breakfast. I love to run this test, we travel to Hawaii often - 90% of restaurants do it. they say ”drip coffee is included but cappuccino is not”. Valley Kitchen waiter just said ”Oh. I will bring you a cappuccino and it will be on us.” . I love it. 4. room is great by the most highest standards. it has a soaking bathtub on balcony and we spent an hour inside sipping champagne. 5. fireplace with automatic timer - fantastic. you just click ”30 min” and it will go down in 30 min. 6. large bathroom with a toilet inside separated by the extra door. 7. cocktails at the bar - they have a special in house receipts - I tried one on whiskey and my wife got a lavender one. we repeated them. both are just awesome. 8. We tried to book Spa, but it was full.. I assume it is very good because I called them for 2 days in advance and they always apologized that all is booked, and could not find a spot for facial. you should book in advance . on a scale from 1 to 10 it is 11. there is only one hotel in my life I would put on the same level of excellence - it is Four seasons on Maui.. nothing else is better. Let's be honest - Monterey Bay is expensive. I want the most bang for my buck and I feel that I get it at Casa Munras. It is definitely my favorite hotel on the peninsula - and I have stayed at many of them, worked at many of them, and lived in all my favorite cities here. Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove - this hotel is my favorite one that I can also afford on the regular. I love the Spanish style décor. I absolutely love their beds and pillows - I sleep so good here, and the best part is the location. You can walk out of the hotel, down the street, and you're in downtown, walk a little further and you're on fisherman's wharf. Go up the street and you're at the mall. Go a little further up the street and you have the freeway right there to take you to Carmel or PG or wherever you want to go. However, there are a few negatives to this property: 1. The internet is not fast (especially depending on the building you stay in) and they do not give you the option to pay for upgraded internet. 2. You have to pay for parking - which I believe is $17/night, but I just factor that into the cost of the room when I book. 3. Not all rooms offer a mini fridge, you have to pay for an upgrade to get a room with a fridge. What's that about? All rooms should have this! Everywhere!

The hotel is in a very quiet town, a few minutes walk from the center, parking is convenient and free of charge. The room was clean and the interior decoration was more American.

I stayed in this hotel while working temp in San Diego for about a month in May/April. I would say this is a hidden gem and a very cute boutique hotel! I loved that there are only 13 rooms and it has the cutest patio that stays lit at night for comfort and safety (very aesthetic as well!). ALL of the staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. I think this would be the perfect stay for a solo traveler like myself, a couple or some friends. It could be a good fit for families as well, but it may be a bit louder then a family would want (traffic noise, multiple guests in one room and upstairs movement is fairly loud). I would not change much about this cute hotel. It is an older building, so you will hear movement from upstairs, if you are on the first floor. If you are a light sleeper, I would advise to stay on the second floor to take care of that. My room, and most, if not all, have a cute little kitchen that is stocked, so you can make any type of food! The unit was very clean and newly furnished! My bathroom was brand new and it was so cute and clean! Great tub for baths and relaxing. The location is amazing because it is right across the street from the ocean and a park. There are several, very nice bars and restaurants right on the same street too. The hotel has its own parking lot, as well as parking on the side streets. I would say this is a great selection for a short or long term stay for anyone looking to see Imperial Beach or surrounding areas! It is also pet friendly, with lots of areas to walk your doggies for potty. Special thanks to Dotti, the manager, for constant, exceptional customer service. And thanks to her amazing staff Kevin, Alba, Lily, Zahraa, Kino and Steven for all the hospitality and thoughtfulness during my long term stay! It really helped to have a solid, friendly staff during the stressful move I was making.

The hotel is very clean and the surrounding environment is very good. It is worth a visit, but unfortunately it is driving along the way, and the day is just foggy. In addition to breakfast, parking is free, coffee and tea can be picked up for free.

The hotel is located 7 or 8 minutes east of the town of Carmel. The rooms are concise in American wood style and the twin beds are large Queen size. The rooms are spacious and clean with shower and bathtub. Parking is free. Compared with the hotels in the town, the hotel's new hardware is better, and the price of the hotel at the same level is 1400.
