Booked this hotel for an overnight stay, with breakfast, as our friend was having his 60th birthday here. When booked we received a ‘special’ deal as the party was being held here. Plenty of free parking on arrival. Reception couldn’t have been swifter nor more friendly, yet professional. The charming young lady was the first, but not last, plus for the hotel. A nice smile to start our stay. She explained everything that was needed especially to keep the key card away from credit cards and phones as, she said, they get easily wiped clean. The room was nice and large with tea/coffee facilities (with biccies), wall mounted TV and USB sockets, ironing board and iron. Bed was so comfortable and pillows soft. Bathroom had all needed items such as toiletries, shower cap and, even, a sewing kit. The shower was a BLAST in that it was powerful. Soft towels and they were almost new. All positives. The evening went perfectly. Great bar service and those guys worked hard as never did there seem to be a waiting queue. During this party there was a buffet meal and, once again, the staff were brilliant. They cleared tables without being noticed. That is professional training. Perfect. After a much needed sleep we went for breakfast. Buffet style with freshly cooked full English. Or, if preferred, Continental. Wonderfully thick bacon, delicious. Eggs cooked to order or, ready, scrambled. Once again, staff were working tirelessly but always smiling. A very nice, spacious, restaurant. A wonderful overnight stay and a big thank you to all the staff for their hard work. We often fly from Gatwick and you may find us booking here again as it is only about 8 miles away. One minor niggle, and very minor. Coffee at breakfast could be a little stronger. This may be us as we do enjoy a strong beverage.

The equipment is a bit old, the room is large, the location is slightly biased, the mountain is quiet. There are plenty of parking spaces available. Free parking. Great price. It is less than 20 minutes drive from Gatwei Airport. But this is Sunday.

The hotel is located in the countryside and belongs to the manor hotel. The garden has large lawns and the air is first-rate. It is very suitable for vacationing here. You can eat steak for dinner. It tastes delicious. In short, it is recommended.

We stayed in 208. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and the view over the golf course was very nice. The fridge in the room was useful as we had brought some water and chocolate with us. We ate at the clubhouse where the staff couldn’t have been nicer. The beer was fresh but the food was bland and a little over cooked. There was a wedding party staying and unfortunately the noise from the party after only stopped at Midnight which did cause me a little insomnia. A solid 4 star stay. We would stay again.

1. Very tired room and security appalling (Gd floor), bathroom window EXTREMELY dodgy so much so that we had to put glass in front of bathroom windows just in case. 2. Room door was a VERY basic lock - had to put suitcases and chair against the door. 3. Bathroom was in MAJOR need of an overhaul, , bath had hole in it patched up with tape and all the fittings were broken and/or Rusty. 4. Tv wasn’t working so had to wait for receptionist to come in and get it working. 3. Booked taxi through the hotel for 6.45 and thought it strange that separate unit was used for the card payment. The following morning we had to wake the driver up (he had clearly been waiting a while) and it was not a licensed taxi that collected us (no taxi plates, no badge or ID inside, no mileage recorder unit etc.). We didn’t have enough time to do anything other than except the rude (but there was 3 of us), but it appears to us that reception are running a side business…. And if we had an accident I doubt that we were covered!!! In essence, if you want closeness to airport and aren’t bothered about staying in a “run down”/ tired hotel then pay a bit extra!!!!

Very convenient location for an early departure from Gatwick the following day. Reasonable price for room only with tea/ coffee making facilities with over night parking free. Bed was very comfortable. We would certainly book again if flying from Gatwick. This accommodation also offers longer stay parking and taxi to the Airport so worth enquiring as we will probably do next time.

A few weeks ago, I didn't really consider myself to be a hotel snob, before the trip I was like ”if it's got a bed, a toilet and a lock on the door then it'll do for me” well... I need to re-evaluate that statement. Firstly, the good (as mentioned in the title) the staff were nice and welcoming, the rooms were clean and it's in a fairly nice area. But... *deep breath* The rooms are hideously dated, if you had woken me up halfway through the night and said ”you've travelled back in time to the mid-80s” I probably would have believed you based on the surroundings, not that this was much of an issue, but there's more... The drain in the shower didn't... drain? So there was a huge pool of water while I was showering. It didn't overflow though because the shower head offered such little water it would have taken hours to do so. The hand soap had been watered down that many times it was just plain old water by the time I got there, same story with the shower gel. The smell in the bathroom was pretty bad and it was nothing to do with me either. The walls were that thin I could hear the person in the next room to me going to the toilet and could pick out the exact words he was having during a phone conversation. The TV didn't work. The light switch for the light above the bed didn't work. The wall had had some damage at some point and had received some patchwork which isn't an issue, but they didn't bother painting over the patches afterwards so there were huge splodges in the wall. The carpet had had some water damage at some point (probably the aforementioned shower tray issue) and there was a huge stain going into the bedroom. I'm sure there were more issues I found but I think it's best I not mention them, you get the gist I'm sure. As of right now, the price for a Premier Inn Gatwick room is £94 and the price I paid for this is £70, and in hindsight, I would have paid the extra £24 quid to have stayed there instead. I arrived on my own as a first-time solo traveller and honestly, I felt quite worried about the state of things to come based on this hotel and would have started my trip off feeling much happier if I'd paid the extra to stay in the premier inn. To summarise, if you're one of those people who thinks ”20 quid is 20 quid, all I need is a bed and a toilet I don't care about the quality” .... just pay the extra 20 quid... trust me. The staff were lovely, it was clean to be fair and it did serve its purpose, but that's the nicest thing I can say, unfortunately. Lesson learned.

We visit the corner house hotel horley regularly, the reason being the facilities are 1st class, the rooms are so clean, 24hr friendly reception, buitifull food at good price, car parking and a lovely bar area offering you a friendly welcome, plus transfers to the airport,so the service is complete. now the staff, theres James(manager), what a lovely person, always around for any quarries and so professional, James organises the hotel to perfection with a smile and welcome, Angie in the restaurant, the beat waitress youl ever meet, always smiling and asking if you need anything, Annie is a diamond, Sophie is so funny ut also very efficient in her work, what a welcome you will get, but seriously all the staff at the corner house are so kind, welcoming, professional, and funny, try the corner house horley especially for your overnight stays for gatwick airport and you definitely won't be disappointed..Gary and Carol..
