We booked a room for 4 as we travelled as a family. The room is clean, firm bed quiet and the staff are helpful. It is a short walking distance to Ipoh old town. I definitely will stay at this hotel again for my next visit. The room comes with a huge TV mounted up and hanging from the ceiling. There is nothing much to watch but it is a smart TV, probably one can surf the Net or Youtube for more entertainment. The room comes with basic facilities but since it is a budget hotel, we are not expecting too much. We are not sure why the food on the table was infested with ants.

The staff are very kind and polite at the reception. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated with movie posters. The shower area was bigger than expected. However, the hot water needed some time to come on. There is a water dispenser at the hallway and a foodcourt is located just next to the hotel, which gives you easy access to food. Overall, it's cozy place to stay in if you are on a budget and just needed a place to stay for the night. Soundproofing for the rooms, however, is very bad. You can literally hear when the room next door is back/out from their room, and when they are taking a shower. Apart from that, even with the windows closed, you can still hear people talking on the streets. How loud was it? I woke up in the middle of the night thinking that I forgot to close the window.

Z Hotel is a modern hotel. Formerly was J A Residence Hotel. Its located near CIQ within less than 10mins walk. Very accommodating and very cosy hotel with good JB straits & city view. Everything in the room was freshly good & new. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Z Hotel is just opposite the popular night market call Bazaar Karat which is well known among their locals and foreigners. Currently Z Hotel do not serve any breakfast but local eateries are easily found nearby and everywhere in JB central. I would highly recommend Z Hotel if u wish to stay in d central of JB and within walking distance to most places. Last but not least, no frets its value for money hotel. We will definitely return.

The location is easy to find via Waze.
Checking in is smooth. The Guesthouse is relatively new.
The Quad family room is spacious and comfortable. Ideal for families of 4 to 5.
The 3 level building offers ample common space and an open air roof top garden .
There are also a nice cafe and a spa for guests.
Definitely will visit this guesthouse again.

The Horizon Suites Ipoh by Iconique Espace

Before checking in, the hotel sent us a guide in advance. The check-in rules stipulate that the mailbox pickup password and key box password will be sent before 3 pm. Check-in was relatively smooth, but there was no place to store luggage, so we had to wait with our luggage. I was not satisfied with the rooftop swimming pool. When I arrived at the hotel downstairs, I saw a notice saying that it was under maintenance. A large part of the reason for booking was that I saw this swimming pool. The treadmill in the gym was very old, there was no air conditioning in the gym, and the electric fan was not powered. It was basically useless... It was very hot and I couldn't stay there for a few minutes; the room facilities were quite warm, the table was fully equipped with dishes, knives, forks and spoons, and there were air conditioners and electric fans in each room; I was not satisfied with the shower in the bathroom. It was burned for a long time, but the bath water was still very warm, and it was even cold when washing hair. There was no toothbrush and toothpaste, and there was only an empty box for the hair dryer, but no hair dryer; the toilet was wiped several times with wet wipes, and it was black after wiping, and the hygiene and cleaning needs to be improved.

AAnonymous UserMy 27th married anniversary Ipoh staycation. Booking a night after holiday from Pahang. Ipoh Bali Hotel is amazing experience for me. I hardly sleep at hotel bed but in this Ipoh Bali I have no doubt to sleep and I have try my bathtub spa and massage before check out. The room can’t find any dirty spot. Very clean and cooling without on air cond too. Very recommended for honeymoon or married anniversary stay. Try to avoid bring kids🔞. Cause you will spoil the calm environment 💝 the hotel only have 12room from villa convert to hotel. So you need to book early for nice room with koi fish pond. I only stay a night at Ipoh so we didn’t go much place cause raining day. We only go Tasik Cermin and buying some souvenirs at Panglima Lane. We decided to stay at hotel for truly enjoy the facility. Very nice hotel definitely will come back again.

GGuest UserStay here, don't look at the hotel facade,they have great rooms and very clean. The hotel is just 10 minutes flat walk from Ipoh train station, although it is in the residential area but all the intersting place are within walking distance such as Concubine lane just five minutes walk, the night market just five minutes walk, the memory lane was behind the hotel. The lobby is always locked and you feel secure. You need your keycard to access the lobby and lift. There are few sitting area in lobby but enough space. The second floor are breakfast area. The room was clean, and bright as there are lights everywhere. There is complimentary coffee and tea, fridge and safety box. The bathroom is quite big and the water power was strong with hot water run constantly. There is not place to eat surrounding the hotel area except KFC and Pizza Hut at the left side of hotel (2 minutes walk). If you walk across the street from the lobby into a small lane,you will reach a traditional kopitiam that have plenty of choice to eat,they start at 6 morning until night. The kopitiam has dim sum, seafood noodles, char kue tiau, popiah (night time). Minimarket 7 Eleven just beside the hotel. Considering the affordable price and very centrally located, this hotel is the best option to stay in Ipoh.

GGuest UserThe look and feel of Sarang Paloh is lovely. It has an old world style which we loved. The location is also great, ten minutes from the station and close to lots of restaurants and spots in the old town.
The room has a nice style to it as does the garden you walk through. The room facilities were lacking, with no fridge and no safe which we would expect at this price point. Hot water in the shower doesn’t last long and they provide a 3 in 1 body wash, shampoo and conditioner, again something we wouldn’t expect at this price point. The hotel also doesn’t offer room cleaning. This may have been because we stayed for two nights only but this is not communicated on the website or at check in. This meant used cups or water bottles aren’t cleared nor is the rubbish bin emptied. We were also not made aware of locally available discounts for staying at the hotel.
All in all an ok stay but several small things made this not value for the money we paid.

5570cslNo one in reception make me stand outside of hotel. When I call the number in front of the door, the staff keep questioning weird things and say I didn’t make booking. After questioning 5 minutes, only the staff come out and open the door. In reception area, staff keep saying I didn’t book their hotel. After 20 minutes, only they find my booking in their computer. This is the staff mistake which she didn’t check my reservation properly, after this the staff didn’t say sorry about this. She just let me check in, then no even say sorry to me. So this is the way that This Hotel Staff treat their customer. Just like Their SOP is when see customer come 1st SOP = keep saying their customer no booking, 2nd SOP = let customer stand outside. 3rd SOP= let customer in but still say no booking. 4th SOP =After customer pissed off for being keep proofing they have booking, then only they find customer booking details in computer.

GGuest UserOne of the few decent places left to book for the peak Chinese New Year period in Ipoh, realized that I stayed here before many years ago. Because of the high occupancy, there were insufficient car park in front of the hotel and we had to park outside the hotel compound along the road. Before our stay, the hotel emailed to inform that their water heating system was undergoing maintenance and there would be no hot water during our stay. Great timing… at least they did offer to accept cancellation or change of date. As the weather was rather hot, we did manage to survive with cold showers. The hotel seemed well-maintained, except the corridors - those do need some brush up. The room was spacious, despite having an extra bed. Room was basic and no frills, but they do have daily housekeeping which is good, unlike some hotels that used the pandemic as a reason for not providing the same. Centrally located in downtown Ipoh, pretty much everywhere in town is just a short drive away. However, there are not much in terms of convenience store or eateries in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, so you’ll need transport or brave enough for a long-ish walk. Considering the peak season, this was still an acceptable stay.

犬犬神様The hotel only has stair access, a bit inconvenient for those with heavy luggage. The hotel is conveniently located, within a 30 minute drive to various attractions in Ipoh, and close to Chang Jiang White Coffee, ideal for breakfast.
The room was spacious, though cleanliness could be improved as my black backpack got covered in white dust after being placed on the floor. Amenities like towels and shower gel were provided, but no toothbrush, toothpaste, hairdryer, and mini-fridge... A shared iron available outside the room.
I purposely chose a room with a window, expecting a pleasant view for the additional cost. However, all I saw was a construction site, which was quite disappointing and not worth the extra cost.
Additionally, the hotel's water heating system is solar-powered and need some time to adjust, and I thought the hotel didn't have a water heater since the markings for hot and cold water were faded. The front desk staff was friendly and willing to help when I had problems with the water heater.
Overall, considering the price, the stay were comfortable and suited for budget travelers.

IilkashongThe location very good. You can walk to many famous restaurants in Ipoh old town. All not more than ten minute, very convenient.
House is very big and bed is comfortable. But the smell from the sewer is very strong and extremely unpleasant. It helped when you close the toilet’s door.
Not much soundproof,you can hear other guests walking and chatting at the corridor. It can be quite noisy in the morning and night when people passing by.
The design of the car park is a nightmare. It’s octagon shaped - really challenging when you drive the car up to level 7 in one go.
The management team quite approachable. They will collect RM300 for damage deposit through credit card. And will return in 1-2 days after your check out. ( I haven’t checked if I received the return).

GGuest UserWhy glorify these dark alleys which look like the neighborhood where Jack the Ripper lurk for his next victim? The ”hotel” is supposed to be ”designer hotel”. It's a prison. Period. Full of hazardous corners and dangerous pits. Pool was so heavily chlorinated that the water stung. Door handle came off, stupid latch on the outside of the room, multiple key card systems that could potentially kill if a fire breaks. I almost got stuck in the common bathroom because the latch refused to budge when I wanted to get out. Sink at the common area was greasy. The reception was almost impossible to find. Do not take your elderly family members or small children to this hotel. I booked it coz I had no choice at such a short notice. Not worth the money either. Seriously, MPI should re-inspect that place and take back the accommodation license. Look at the ”barrier” from the rooftop pool to the ground below. No banister. It's lower than my knee if I stand next to it. One wrong move, you'd plummet down. Steps made out of metal grating. No safety yellow stickers to differentiate the levels. Totally NOT safe! Never again!

NNurasyikin ZI stayed at the Premier room (2 King beds). Everything looked okay at first, cleaned and spacious. Room was enough to fit 4 adults and 2 small kids at one time. But when i tried to use the tap and shower in the toilet, looks like the heater was not functioned. When i tried to use the standing shower, it got burst immediately and the tube spout connecting to the tap fell off. I had to use the shower near the bathtub instead. Then when my husband tried to use the electric kettle, boom, all power off due to power trip. We called up the reception and they sent a technician immediately, he was surprised to know that the wiring was not done correctly, and was not safe at all. Knowing that the wiring and shower work will take some time, and we couldn't be moved to another room due to unavailability. We had no choice but to leave the room because 1. my baby needs hot water for his milk, 2. we havent had dinner. We headed back to hotel right after dinner, and thank god they managed to complete all the work. Shower and wiring were fixed accordingly and the heater finally worked. Breakfast? The Chinese fried rice was very plain in taste. Even my 2 year old baby refused to eat it. Same goes to the rice porridge- tasteless. Fried meehoon was okay. I'd rather have a simple selection of tasty breakfast, rather than having a variety of food but tasteless. The only credits i would vie was to the front desk officer and technician. butI'm not recommending this hotel, avoid if you may.

There are also many retro Chinese traditional things here for you to watch. Looking at them makes you feel like you are back in time.
