"The hotel is near Zhongshan Square, about a ten-minute walk from Exit D. The staff, including the cleaning aunties, were very friendly and welcoming. However, the soundproofing isn't great. Luckily, it wasn't too noisy during my stay. My air conditioning wasn't working, but the room was quite warm anyway, so it wasn't a big issue. The breakfast was pretty good too."

There's a convenience store right downstairs, and the subway station is just a four or five-minute walk away. "Great location near to the central park and 20 minutes from the airport. I got an ocean view room, which was well worth it, and the bed was huge and comfortable. This hotel, when first built, was opulent, classy, and attractive. But now it is in a major need of renovations to cure everything from thread bare carpets to damaged walls and peeling timber. The welcome drink includes an afternoon tea type buffet. The quality of the food is terrible, stay clear of the pastries and coffee, but I stocked up on the fruits, which were delicious. This hotel does not live up to a 5 star rating however it does represent value for money. Next time Im in Dalian I will try another hotel first."

"Came to Dalian with my mom, and for sea views, Grand Hyatt was our top choice. The sea view is absolutely stunning; you can watch the ocean right from your bed. We didn't get to see a sunset during our stay, so we'll definitely come back for a sunrise and sunset next time. Right next to the hotel are Where Where Urchin Pizza and Xiding Urchin Dumplings, both incredibly delicious! The staff were warm and accommodating, and even gave us cute little dolls~"

"I enjoyed staying in this hotel. 5 stars but reasonable price. The room was clean and spacious and the view outside looked out towards the sea and harbour. They made the beds every morning. I did not eat the breakfast as downstairs and surrounding area had plenty of cheaper options due to being next to many shopping malls. The metro stop is not so far but a little more inconvenient to get to the main train station by walking. Line 2 takes you to the airport in less than 40 minutes for 4RMB. As the metro is nearby you can get to many local tourist places quickly and cheaply. Highly recommend if you want to spend a little more but have close access to get around."

"Booked 2 rooms on a higher floor to enjoy the city views. Unfortunately there was a noticeable toilet smell in both rooms. Reporting this to the hotel staff we were allocated alternative rooms. They still had a smell but it was less pungent than the others. Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago, its showing signs of tiredness in fixtures, fittings and facilities. We were told the hotel will be refurbished in the year ahead. Breakfast buffet is good with a wide selection of western and Asian cuisines. It gets busy, especially at the weekend. There is a decent sized pool though the changing rooms are in need of refurbishment to bring it up to the standard of other 5 star properties in the city. Room rates are currently low to reflect the hotels current situation, as told by a manager when the room smell was reported. Still a great stay thanks to its location and breakfast offering and the room rates. Look forward to its refurbishment in the future."

"We visited Luneng Hot Spring with our kids and had a great family time. The hot spring was relaxing, and the kids really enjoyed the play areas and child-friendly pools. One of the best parts of our stay was the excellent help we received from Brynn, a staff member who spoke English very well. Since we don’t speak Chinese, her support made everything easier—from room service to general questions. She was kind, professional, and even checked on us after we left. "Whenever I travel, I always choose Atour Hotels. Their overall quality control is consistently good, and the pillows are incredibly comfortable. There was a minor hiccup at first, but Atour's excellent service quickly resolved it. Plus, the robot delivering food with mobile screen mirroring is super convenient. I picked this Atour in Zhongshan District because of its fantastic location. It's within walking distance of a series of great restaurants like Zhenghuangqi, Xianshengsheng, Pinbailou, and Riyuesheng. It’s perfect – you can enjoy delicious food and then burn off some calories afterwards! The evenings in Dalian are wonderfully cool. Walking around, you can spot fresh cherries and try all sorts of local delights. Don't miss a ride on Tram 201 at Democracy Square either!"
