"I visited relatives and chose the nearest chain hotel, but I was surprised by how disappointing this budget hotel from the Jinjiang Group was! 😦 1. The hotel was converted from the second floor of a commercial building in a residential complex, and many rooms had no windows. Make sure to check the room type carefully. 2. The soundproofing was terrible! My room, 232, was unfortunately right next to a windowless room, 231. At 1 AM, guests checked into room 231, and their loud talking woke me up. Then they turned on the air conditioner, and the low-frequency noise from the air conditioner combined with the noise from the guests made it impossible to sleep. I guess they stopped talking and turned off the air conditioner (I suspect) around 3 or 4 AM before I could finally fall asleep again. 3. The receptionist was okay. I originally booked two nights, but Ctrip helped me cancel one night and I switched to a familiar and better chain hotel. Lesson learned the hard way: For chain hotels you haven't stayed at before, especially very budget ones, always book cancelable rooms, and don't stay more than one night initially. Some hotels are shockingly bad."
