Hotel Alto Lido

Morden, nice and comfy hotel with modern facilities. The location was convenient as it wasn’t far from Funchal by public transport or walk. Within the area, it had variety of options to eat out, exercise and but something essential near by. Breakfast was nice and fresh and well organised. Would come back again if needed.

The hotel is very beautiful, and great location, BREAKFAST IS AMAZING - and the staff is very hospitable. Rodrigo on reception was very helpful-however we had builders outside our room, which was a bit annoying as you couldn’t go on the terrace. We called Tripp and they were very helpful.

Très bon hôtel emplacement top juste à côté du bus direction aéroport et direction centre Bien insonorisé parce qu’on avait vu sur les travaux … et ça va on a très bien dormi malgré cela Seul bémol est le petit déjeuner ou a l’arrivé ils vous imposent de choisir un horaire En cas de changement il faut appeler la veille au soir C’est super chiant ! Surtout quand on a pas un emploi du temps millimétré On a pas respecté tous les jours l’horaire et ça va on ne c’est pas fait recaler :) Réceptionnistes sont top et toujours dispo

Tout était parfait

This is a fantastic hotel in a great location. We walked into the centre of Funchal at a leisuely place in about 25 minutes. Hotel was spotlessly clean - our room wa skept immaculate, tho we never saw the person who looked after our room at all. Room was well equipped - we were lucky enough to have a suite. which included a fabulous day bed on the balcony with views of the sea as we were on a high floor. Indoor and outdoor pools were a little on the cold side until you had been in for a few minutes. We were all inclusive guests - the breakfast was the best offering we have ever seen. Food in the evening was also very ood - there was always two vegetarian optionsl. We were a little disappointed that a lot of the salad had meat in them, making them unsuitable for us but the meat free ones were just delicious. Lunch was a bit of a wash out to br honest, very little choce - this could be as not many people had lunch at the hotel as this was a destination to be out and about. After the first day we didnt bother, breakfast kept us going till dinner, with maybe a small snack in the afteroon. Food at the pool bar was ok, but often the sandwiches on offer were ham and chesse, so again unsuitable for us, but we never felt hungry! The staff at this hotel were simply wonderful, with one exception. On the day we arrived we went for lunch before checking in and the lady who was taking drinks orders was so brusque it bordered on rude. This was not a great start to our holiday, though she was extremely friendly with the next people that came in - maybe they had been there a few days and she had got to know them, but it was very, very uncomforatble. I only mention this so future guests dont get put off by her attitude and it is a shame as the rest of the staff in all areas of the hotel were oustanding. My husband celebrated his birthday during our stay and the hotel provided us with a beautiful chocolate cake to help celebrate. Would recommend this hotal and would be keen to stay here again if we travel back to Madeira
