Gangshe Hotel

Service is great! Very friendly staff. We shipped our luggage to the hotel, because we were traveling to different places in China. It was waiting on our arrival near the front desk. We only stayed here for one night, but would definitely go again next time.

My overall experience at the hotel is far from pleasant: 1) Do not accept international visa card for payment. They are not ready to accept foreign tourists - when I say foreign, I mean from outside China. This hotel is located in Guilin, small city, largely dependent on tourists (in this case their local tourists) 2) Location - right on the pedestrian street where food, clothing, sourvenir stalls are allocated. Why is this an issue? Taxi cannot stop there we have to walk 300-400 metres with our luggage to the hotel!!! 3) Unpleasant incident happened with a room "cleaner". The hotel director/manager was informed who "promised" me over the phone that she would investigate and get back to me but when I left the hotel the next day, nothing about the investigation was heard from her. I would asked that Trip.com do not list them as they are obviously not in the right spirit to welcome overseas travellers, despite us being quite a fluent Mandarin speaker.

Really love this hotel! We booked the mountain view room and you can really see the mountain and also the busy street on the opposite side of the road. The location is so central making it so easy to get everywhere! The room is spacious and i love the design! The staffs are also super helpful, even helping recommending me some dishes around the area. Thank you!!

The location was perfect, right next to a night market with so many shops and carts to eat from. And just a few mins of walking away from the sun and moon pagoda. The front desk was super friendly and helped me with any questions I had regarding traveling around Guilin and Yangshuo.10/10 👍🏾

Very nice room. Good breakfast, nice front desk. The view on 8th floor was very enjoyable.

Quite troublesome if you have lots of luggages as there is no place for taxi driver to drop you at the lobby ( taxi drop us at a narrow alley near the hotel ) and furthermore to go to the lobby you need to go down a few stairs and a slope and we didn’t know about that . Hotel staff was friendly and helpful when you check out they will help you carry your luggage to taxi .

Perfect location and lovely room . English at reception was a problem as not even one sign saying "Gangshe Hotel" in English. I would make life so much simpler even a small sign .

I actually have very few words for how impressed I am with this hotel and the staff. I came expecting just a regular cheap hotel, the price is so low but actually it’s very very impressive. I arrived to the wrong location and one member of staff made an enormous effort to come collect me and walk me to the right one… all along the way she was happy and talking about the different places I could visit. The hotel itself is very nice, very clean and way above my expectations. The room too is fantastic - I almost didn’t want to leave the shower haha. I only booked one day but I genuinely wish I was staying here for a few more nights. The only downside I have is the restaurant food, I am vegetarian so the choices were limited but the soup on offer was delicious. I ordered another bowl. There’s also a very nice view from the restaurant balcony so do not miss that!

Excellent hotel. Right at the city centre with all the shops.
