"I used to stay at this hotel multiple times in the course of visiting family in the area. Parking was free, the hotel was well kept, and the free chocolate chip cookies were delicious.
No more. The hotel installed a gate to the parking area, made no other visible changes, and now charges $40 per car per night. This is not downtown LA, this is a hotel located out in an open area away from crowded areas, with just a couple of adjacent commercial buildings nearby. There seems to be no reason to charge THIS LEVEL of overnight parking except to transfer funds from you to them.
But more than that, the hotel has gotten noticeably shabbier. Dings and scuffs in hotel hallways not repaired, duct tape used as a ”fix” for torn and worn hallway carpeting, and even the cookies aren't as good. I will stay somewhere else next time."
