"Traveling with seniors and kids for a relaxing trip, I randomly picked this hotel within the ancient town. I was a bit worried the facilities might be old, but I was pleasantly surprised upon check-in! The room was luxurious, spacious, and clean. Check-in was super convenient too: register at the tourist service center, then pick up your room key at the hotel front desk. A shuttle bus took us right to the hotel entrance. The staff at the scenic area and the hotel staff were all incredibly kind, providing smiling service throughout and patiently explaining everything. It was a fantastic stay, hats off to all the staff! 👍"

"Our whole family came to Haining to see the tidal bore at Chaole Ancient Town, and staying at the hotel inside the scenic area was super convenient with excellent service! The scenic area is huge, developed by the same company behind Wuzhen, Yao Lake, and Puyuan, so it retains the original ancient architecture and historical sites. You can easily spend 1-2 days eating, staying, and playing all within the area. With summer approaching, here's an ideal itinerary: arrive at the hotel in the afternoon to rest, then stroll through the ancient town in the evening. The next day, after a delicious hotel breakfast, head to the Tidal Bore Park to wait for the spectacular tide (the best time is the eighteenth day of the eighth ***** month). In the afternoon, those with kids can visit the water park or continue exploring the ancient town before leaving in the evening (if you're staying at the hotel, you can enjoy the ancient town until around 4 PM)."

One could have expected a better breakfast's variety: the restaurant gives you a breakfast set which is qualitatively ok, but it is a shame that the restaurant's buffet was not used and remained empty."

"Gushu Yiju is located within a residential complex, which has a very pleasant environment – clean and attractive. We booked a two-bedroom, one-living room, two-bathroom apartment. It was quite refreshing, with good airflow from front to back, making it very comfortable. Haining Old Town is quite close, just a 10-15 minute walk away. Overall, it's a great place to stay if you're visiting with family and friends, and the price is very reasonable. Recommended!"

"I stayed overnight with my family with 2 kids. Hotel location, service (although almost no english) and cleanliness was good. But to my surprise it had a love hotel vibe. They even had these adult toys & condoms displayed inside our “family room” instead of a minibar, which I found little inappropriate for people with young kids. There are many shops and eats nearby, cab from the railway station was under 10 yuans."

"Overall, I'm quite satisfied. Here's what I liked: 1. The price increase for the May Day holiday wasn't too high. 2. It's located in the bustling center of the old town, close to attractions like Xu Zhimo's former residence and Nanguanxiang. 3. The snack and dining spots on the first floor, in the same building as the hotel, seem quite good and offer Haining specialties. 4. The breakfast buffet was excellent. There were a few minor issues, though: 1. The area by the window in my room was cluttered with furniture, making it difficult to even draw the curtains. 2. The soundproofing was just average. 3. In the early morning, I felt a continuous vibration from the ceiling, but I'm not sure what caused it."
