"This hotel is conveniently located. It is a traditional Japanese hotel with a lot of facilities. It is very beautiful, particularly the garden which is big and serene. The hot spring having both indoor and outdoor pools is impressive. The dining experience is fantastic because the setting is cosy and the food is extremely delicious. The mattresses, neither too soft, nor too hard, are very comfortable."

"Beautiful hotel with a really large, clean and comfortable room. Appreciated the complimentary drinks in the room, and at the foyer (in the morning) and bar (during happy hour). Lovely view of Mt Fuji across the lake as well, worth every penny. Unfortunately Mt Fuji was covered by clouds for most of our trip, but the only time we were able to see it mostly in full was at the hotel. Onsen experience was also great; while it was a public onsen, other guests did not really use it, which was a real shame as there was a jacuzzi and outdoor onsen inside. Only downside was the central air conditioning which made the room feel a bit too warm after coming back from the onsen, but otherwise still a comfortable stay."

"Hotel located on top of the hillside which offer fantastic view of lake Ashinoko with the Mount Fuji as backdrop . Travelers can either require hotel pick up when reached at Togenda station (ropeway)from Hakone-Yumoto station train by bus. I chosen the room with lake & Mount Fuji view for 3nights . Unfortunately, due the gloomy & cloudy sky and snowing day , view from my room wasn’t great ! Travels need to make reservation in advance & pay 2000yen for 1/2hour used of hotspring . I would like to thanks the front desk whom was really very helpful and always offered drop off & pickup services during my stayed . Bear in mind that , this hotel doesn’t has in house restaurant or cafe . Travelers can place your meals in advance with front desk OR ask to drop off to the nearest restaurant around there or take a walk about 20mins to the restaurants place."

"A must stay if you are visiting Hakone! It's a 15 minute walk away from Hakone Yumoto station, or you can pay 200 yen to take the shuttle bus there. You can deliver your luggages there using the baggage service at the train station (for a fee). Place is clean and best of all, there's so many perks staying here. Firstly, there's free private onsen (subject to first come first serve). Secondly, dinner and breakfast are provided. Just need to select your preferred timeslot and head to the restaurant then. Food was delicious, and serving was generous as well. They also serve free ramen at 10.30pm, although it was just a simple bowl of noodles. There's also free drinks provided at L1 and L3, and some free snacks as well at the hotel lobby."

"Dear Hotel Team, I did not want to make these points of criticism public and therefore sent you an email on September 16, 2025. Since I have not received any response by October 1, 2025, I am now publishing my points of criticism. Thank you very much for hosting us from September 14 to 16 2025. Your service is so attentive and friendly - it was consistently perfect. Unfortunately, we experienced many shortcomings that I would like to point out to you. The room, unfortunately, was not clean. The sink siphon is yellow, and the bathtub on the balcony is full of residue from the thermal water. We found hair everywhere: on the floor, the bed, and the couch. I would expect a different hygiene standard in a 5-star hotel. The bed linen seemed old and had frayed edges and loose threads sticking out. It did not feel inviting to sleep in. On the terrace, the hanging chair had a hole that looked like it was caused by a cigarette. The wooden surfaces in the room showed a lot of wear and damage in many areas. Simply touching them up with a suitable marker or paint would already make them look newer and more high-quality. At the buffet, the water glasses were unfortunately very small. In the summer heat, I had to fetch four rounds of two glasses each at dinner to stay sufficiently hydrated. At the first breakfast, I got a cappuccino from the coffee machine. No milk came out, even though a staff member had just refilled it, and the remaining coffee tasted strongly of cleaning agent. The taste lingered in my mouth until the evening. I only took one sip and didn’t want to drink any more. On the first night, I was woken up by irregular beeping in the room. After a long search, I identified the safe as the source. The safe was irregularly entering codes on its own without any input. I tried to open it with my PIN - since our laptops were locked inside - but I couldn’t open it anymore. The error HOLD03 appeared, so I wanted to wait the three minutes for a new PIN entry. In the meantime, the safe entered codes again by itself and reactivated the HOLD03 timer. Luckily, I found a three-minute phase when the safe didn’t make an input on its own, and I was able to open it with my PIN. Out of lack of trust, I didn’t lock the laptops in the safe again. I kindly ask you to have the safe serviced and the defect repaired. Because of this, I unfortunately slept poorly and with the hygiene issues and the problems at the buffet, the overall stay was not enjoyable. A single problem would not make the stay worse, but the accumulation of issues put us off and does not correspond to a 5-star hotel charging ¥80,000 per night for a simple double room. I hope my feedback helps you and wish that you can resolve the problems easily and cost-effectively. Your service is on such a high level, and we truly appreciate that. Best regards"

"The dinner was really bad: -beef is fully cooked and texture is tough - cooked crab is smelly - grilled fish is hard and does not have taste Also, my room has 3 huge problems -the water in the shower area cause flood - there is a big spider found in the room. - air condition in living room is noisy The worst part is I sent my complaint to the hotel for 2 weeks, there are no respond."

"Great place to stay in Hakone! Just few walks away from the bus stop and town proper of Motohakone, where tourist attractions are located. Feels like home when you stay in this accommodation. I love the hot spring w/ overview of the suburb. Overall, great service, cleanliness, and comfy stay."

"Convenient next to the train with elevator from near the train up to the hotel floor. Hotel has a really nice onsen with both indoor and outdoor pools. They also provide a variety of different size kimonos that can be used around the hotel and in the onsen."

"Excellent as usual. We went back again exactly one year after. After you surrender your shoes at the entrance, you will feel like home in the entire ryokan. Private onsen was amazing, kiseki breakfast and dinner was umai, cafes and restaurants nearby for lunch, a short stroll/climb to gora station and the bus stop that takes you to gotemba. Most importantly the staff were very hospitable and what you would expect from Japan service wise. Will not hesitate to visit again (for the 3rd time next year)."

"One of the best, if not the best spot to stay for a night when we came down to Yumoto. The foods great, the onsen s sizeable compared to the ones I went before, and it’s a walkable distance away from the Main Street, if not directly adjacent. I enjoyed every bit of my stay here, and I would love to revisit again in my lifetime."
