"Rooms have a nice old world charm. Dinner (we had the French one) was very good. Soup, fish, palate cleanser, steak, and dessert were all tasty and fresh. Wine selection could have been a bit better but wasn't bad at all. Onsen is nice: they have the public onsen and private rooms. Each room is different, so try to get the one at the end of the corridor (it has an open air section) if you can. Otherwise the public onsen is really great too. A slightly long walk to the ropeway station up to Asahidake for my kid. But loved it overall!"

"Location- Right by the stream, extremely walkable to 7-11 and the central plaza in the Sounkyo Gorge and a little downhill from the cable car station. Note- the plaza is super sleepy and not many restaurants open. 7-11 was acceptable for our party but not many options for food in area. A short drive to the Ryusei no Taki (falls) in the area Cleanliness- Hotel was clean but extremely dated. Hotel doesn't just need an overhaul (carpet mismatched colours, threadbare), holes in walls in our room, chair broken, rooms need keys to enter, safe needs key to access. If booking, please beware, some rooms are extremely small and cannot facilitate the number of people they project they can with futons on the floor and any luggage you may have (especially with the table and chairs in the rooms) Service- Counter staff are comfortable with English and check-in and out were easy. They were able to give information on the area. We were yelled at by the parking attendant in Japanese. Though we tried to understand what he was saying by trying Google Translate, he kept berating us in Japanese and refused to try to communicate with translator or hand signs. Facilities- The breakfast was sufficient- we ate at 7:30 a.m. (breakfast ends pretty early at 8:30 a.m.) and it wasn't crowded (tour groups eat earlier, we think). Fair amount of vegetable options and a few meat options include breakfast ham and sausage, grilled mackerel, scrambled and soft-boiled eggs. We visited the onsen once but have no other onsen to compare it to"

"Incredible service and beautiful, quiet hotel with rooms that make you feel like home! We even met a ezo red fox while driving down the mountain from the hotel."

"The hotel is in the centre of Sounkyo and within minutes walk to the ropeway and Momijidani maple valley. There are not many dining options around the hotel thus is recommended to book their room with breakfast and dinner. The buffet was very sumptuous and they offered many free different alcohol drinks. There are 3 onsens located in different buildings. We tried the biggest one that offers both indoor and outdoor onsens. Views was breathtaking. We stayed in tatami room and when we entered the room we couldn't find our futon. Apparently we have to move the furniture in the room to make space for the futon. We didn't know so we send a message to the reception through Qr code provided (apparently there is no direct telephone connection to the reception) and was told that they will set up the futon when we go for our dinner. We found it strange as we were not informed when we checked in. Other than that everything is fine except the bathroom is a bit small and last call for breakfast is 8:30am which we think is a bit early. We need to wake up early for the breakfast."

"Not your normal hostel - a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and were very helpful. Spacious kitchen and shared area. Very clean in every area. Lovely Onsen after being in the mountain. Best to bring your own food although they do have a small shop to buy supplies. Near to the tourist information centre to hire snow shoes, boots, cross country skis etc."

"처음 방문했을때 기억이 좋아서 두번째 방문했습니다. 601호에 묵었고 룸컨디션 은 여전히 좋았습니다. 지난번과 같은 룸으로 배정되서 반대쪽 뷰 로 룸 변경 요청했으나 예약 만료의 사유로 변경하지 못했습니다. 조식은 시간을 못 맞춰서 이용하지 못했고, 대욕탕 및 석식뷔페는 개인차가 있으나 나쁘지 않았습니다. 이전과는 다르게 프론트와 식당에 동남아 직원들이 있었는데 접객는 보통 수준이었습니다. 청의 호수 야간 버스 투어(현장 예약필수) 이용했고 밤 산책하기 좋았습니다."

"차분한 주변 풍광과 친절한 직원들의 응대, 소박한 듯 고급스러운 정갈한 객실 상태가 아주 좋았습니다. 마치 일본 드라마 속으로 들어간 듯 한 느낌이였습니다. 아사히다케 등반 후 머물면 정말 좋은 곳 입니다. 단 차가 없다면 접근이 어려울 것 같은데, 대중교통으로 갈 수 있는지 궁금합니다. 적극 추천합니다."

"The room was spacious and very clean and we stayed for 2 days. There was a play place for children. A big comfortable to relax after insen. I had good view of lake and mountain from our room. onsen was very good. Very pleasant place to stay to relax. Not much activities nearby like to walk round or view. Quite unfortunate the restaurant was closed and we didn't get to try their food."

"Omakase meal is provided for both dinner and breakfast. Seafood quality and food taste are great. The hotel provides fresh mountain cold water that comes from its spring in Asahidake onsen. The hotel has nice lounge which gives a cozy experience after eating a meal."

"Very stylish hotel. Is newly renovated. I was a bit worried about some comments that said that only lobby is new and rooms are old and smelly. At least in our case the room was new , modern, spacious with awesome look to the mountain, river and sunrise.  Onsen is big, an outdoor area is my love, as you can breathe fresh air and enjoy the warmth of the water. Also the hair oil before drying hair was so good. Totally delicious food, amazing dish selection, rich palette of variant tastes. Suitable for all culinary preferences. Definitely recommend to take both breakfast and dinner. Though hotel is pricey, but it was worth it!!!"
