"The downside was that my 5 PM dinner reservation was inexplicably changed to 7 PM. The hot springs were very comfortable though. The transportation was genuinely inconvenient. Oddly enough, I bumped into a celebrity, but unfortunately, I didn't recognize who it was. 😂😂😂"

"Ok, first I have to admit that I am really biased, as I've been recommended with this Hotel and had indeed HIGH expectations... And all in all everything was quite fine: the old authentic building itself, funicular, open onsen, facilities, spacious room and view from the balcony - nothing to complain about! However I did expect something extraordinary for the price... And I didn't get it. We've been to several ryokans along our trip and this one was... same good. Not the best kaiseki, Japanese-style breakfast (if you're not used to that, you won't be able to eat much) and definitely not the best service either. I anticipate that due to a lot of recommendations the amount of guests is high, but they seems truly not care much about you... More like conveyer. Which is FINE but that's not what you expect in Japanese ryokan. But again: maybe it was just me and my expectations. On the good side: this ryokan is tattoo-friendly and only for this it deserves the best evaluation!"

"Facilities: The hotel is newly opened and the facilities are quite comprehensive. There's a free hot spring and shuttle service (just call the number on Ctrip). Hygiene: The hygiene is pretty good. No mosquitoes or bugs, so it's quite comfortable to stay here. Service: The grandpa and uncle provided excellent service. They're Chinese and very welcoming. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance."

"I booked this hotel because it was under the Hoshino Group. The hotel is in a good location, not far from the station. But overall it was not as good as expected. The dinner was very average. The worst thing was that there was a mess of quilts in the closet of the room. The moment I opened the closet, it was really hard to describe. I complained to the front desk, and the apology was good. I thought at least someone would come to clean it up, but nothing was done."

The hotel's breakfast and dinner are very good. Eat until you are full. The chef will come out to greet you. The hot spring water is a little too hot. The children can't get down. The service is also very good. There is welcome tea and dessert. Everything is very exquisite"

"Two days and one night stay, Japanese-style room with two beds in the main building, with a semi-open-air bath, dinner and breakfast included, for two people. The hotel is a little hard to find. If you are using a car navigation system, make sure you look for the sign for the guest parking lot, "Ito-shi Sakuragaoka 2-chome 4-13," or the sign on the electric pole from Minami-Ito Station. When you arrive at the parking lot, someone will be there to guide you to your parking space. While you are there, a waitress will come and help you with your luggage, but since the hotel is on a hill, it can be a bit daunting to have heavy luggage carried for you. The hotel is located in a residential area, so the entrance is It is not visible from the parking lot, and its appearance is more like a traditional Japanese inn than a hotel, and it has a dignified atmosphere. After entering, we took off our shoes and went up to a Japanese-style room with a cypress counter. We checked in and enjoyed matcha tea and sweets, and took a break. The room was on the second floor and we were moved by elevator, but we had to go down a few stairs to get to the main building. The room was quite spacious for two people, and the waitress explained that there was a disaster kit to take out in case of a disaster. There was also emergency water in the toilet. We also went to the large public bath, which was open and spacious. After bathing, we were given a drink. We ate what was on hand. The drinks were different in the evening and in the morning. They would call us when the meal was ready. The menu for the private dining room changes monthly, but we were able to choose one of five dishes as a token of appreciation, and one of three dishes for the meal. We had both hot and cold dishes, and there was a fair amount of food, so we were full and delicious. They offered us some midnight noodles in the evening, but we were too full so we gave up. The hot spring in our room was a little warm, so we were able to stay in for a long time. It was quiet, probably because it was surrounded by trees, and we could occasionally hear the sound of trains in the distance. Breakfast was served in the same place, starting at 8:00, but they made an effort to accommodate (we wanted to leave earlier). The freshly cooked rice was delicious, and we could choose as many as we wanted from four side dishes, and we were told we could have seconds. There was grilled fish, but it was really tasty when heated on a charcoal grill. On our way back, we checked out at the front desk and had our luggage carried to the parking lot. It was a rare Japanese-style inn, with staff in kimonos these days. Recommended for those who want to relax and enjoy high-quality service and hot springs."

"Location: It is about a 20-minute walk from Izu Kogen Station. It is recommended to email the store in advance to contact the pick-up service. We stayed in Room 101 this time, which has one bedroom and one living room. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, and the hygiene is also very good. Service: After entering the store, the store lady introduced the check-in instructions very enthusiastically. There are also pola, snow muscle essence, DHC and other toiletries to choose from, which can be taken on demand. In addition, slippers for children, brushes for bathing and other items are also thoughtfully prepared. Configuration: This time I booked this hotel because of its hot spring ♨️ private bath. There are two private baths. As long as no one is there, you can use them privately, but you cannot book in advance. There are also small stools and other items for children inside, which makes people feel very thoughtful. It's great to enjoy a private hot spring with friends for a day👍 Meals: Our reservation includes two meals, breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is Western and Japanese. It is worth mentioning that the sukiyaki provided for dinner is very delicious, the ingredients are very fresh, the portion is also very large, and the store uncle will also patiently introduce and help you. Bonus points: There is a puppy named "SOCKS" in the museum. It is very cute and well-behaved. You can touch it. It seems to be well taken care of by the store. It's a bit like an NPC in the game. You will accidentally meet it in the corner of the museum [Love][Love] I have recommended it to my friends. If you have the opportunity to come to Izu, you can choose this hotel."

"The room is very spacious as it is like an apartment. The hotel is older but we can imagine it to be a luxury hotel back in its heyday. Location is no issue as we drove, and it was convenient to all the main attractions around the area eg. Mount omuro, jogasaki. The kids booked a slot in the kids playroom which is suitable for younger children. There was also a kids game which they can exchange for a prize upon completion, similar to Easter egg hunt, which made them excited and this helped us become familiar with the common areas and facilities."

"The hotel is located close to the Ito downtown, we were driving so it wasn't an issue. There are plenty of parking at the hotel. The ryokan is well maintained, it doesn't feel old, the onsen are properly modernized and clean. The room is HUGE which, with many functional areas, it was very pleasant room. There is also a private onsen as well for family or couples for a small fee. The private onsen has a good traditional style to it and it was open-air . There are also a chair for old people and toys for kids, so it's well thought out. Many people seems to like to have their dinner at the private eating room on first floor, so we did the same. They had one service person per 2-3 rooms maybe so we were well serviced, and the guy was very nice. I remember meeting him for dinner, and he realized we can only speak English, so the next morning when we met him again for breakfast, it looks like he made note in his notebook so he can properly introduce the dishes to us in English. I could feel the dedication so thank you to the man."

""We had an absolutely amazing stay and only wish we had booked for longer! This ryokan is a true gem in Japan and easily the best place we have ever stayed. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, and both the onsen and the rooms are so relaxing—we’re leaving feeling completely rejuvenated. The highlight, however, was the staff; they are an amazing, lovely team who made us feel so welcome. Also, the food is spectacular and definitely worthy of a Michelin star. We will definitely be returning for a two-week stay next time"

"A fantastic resort hotel, quiet and very private. Although Ctrip shows it opened in 1988, the hotel is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Breakfast and dinner were excellent; I stayed two nights, and the menu changed daily, showing great attention to detail. The hotel has a public onsen (hot spring), and since it wasn't peak season when I visited, it was practically private. The downsides are the lack of an elevator and numerous stairs, which can be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. Also, the location is a bit out of the way, about 2 kilometers from Izu Kogen Station; we took taxis everywhere, so driving would be more suitable."

Floral Hotel · Sakura-zaka Onsen (Izu Kogen Omuroyama) ★★★★
"The Sakurazaka branch is nestled in the tranquil villa resort area of Izu Kogen, a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city centers. It feels more like a place where you can temporarily step away from your daily routine. Mornings are greeted with the cool mountain air and birdsong, while afternoons bring sunlight filtering through the trees and a slow passage of time. In spring, you can watch cherry blossoms drift in the breeze, and in summer, listen to cicadas echoing along the forest paths. Scattered along the way are charming shops, cafes, and gardens with a distinct Showa-era charm, flanked by quietly growing flowers and trees. People come here not for the sake of 'checking off a list,' but to briefly step away from the city's pace, put down their phones and work, and let time slow down amidst hot springs, nature, and tranquility. The charm of Izu Kogen isn't in its grandeur, but in its preservation of a sense of life that is increasingly rare today. It's perfect for zoning out, taking a leisurely stroll, reading, or soaking in the hot springs, and also ideal for spending a few quiet days with someone special. This is my most genuine feeling."

"The room was spacious and came with a private hot spring bath. Just a heads up, you'll need to pay extra for disposable toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and combs, so it's best to bring your own – which we did. It had a nice mix of a Japanese-style living room and a Western-style bed, offering plenty of space for our belongings. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station, and we also found most of the dining options near there. We didn't go to the public outdoor onsen since we had a child with us, but it seemed popular with locals. The service was quite good, though they weren't very prompt in replenishing used towels and water bottles."

"When I tried to book through a major Japanese website, it showed as fully booked, but an overseas website showed availability, so I booked through there. I entered the number of preschool-aged children, but when we arrived, it was all booked as adults, and we were told we would be served adult meals. Upon checking, I learned that even if you register children through an overseas website, the reservation is automatically processed as adults. We couldn't accept adult meals for three preschool-aged children, and the food went to waste, which was very disappointing. Also, although there are separate times for men and women to use the baths, the large open-air bath is only accessible to women from 9 PM to 6:45 AM, which meant we couldn't enjoy it while putting the children to bed. I suppose this is due to concerns about being easily overlooked from the outside, but the other bath wasn't very clean, and there was a slight odor near the drain, which was also disappointing. I think they should schedule it so that women can use the baths during the daytime as well."

"A hotel that did not disappoint. There is nothing much to comment on the hygiene and service quality. It is indeed a high standard of brand hotels. The overall decoration style is modern and comfortable, and the area is relatively large among Japanese hot spring hotels. Although there is no private hot spring, the public hot spring in the hotel is very good, and there is also a beautiful courtyard and foot bath, and a heated swimming pool. The food is particularly surprising, exquisite and delicious, and I feel that a dinner is worth the price. If I have the opportunity to go to Ito again, I will really consider staying again."
