Golden Walls Hotel

Our 4 nights stay was fantastic. The hotel is a few meters away from the old city wall and Damascus gate. Room was modern clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is 5* one of the best from my travel experience. Staff were excellent & helpful they go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed. The views from the hotel at night are amazing. The hotel is family run who make sure that customers are well looked after and comfortable. Highly recommend and definitely will come back. Golden walls you deserve 5* and big thank you.

We arrived at the hotel as the last drop in a shared taxi (minibus), as we drew up the driver said "You have the best hotel" and I must say he was right. The position is ideal, a few minutes walk to Damascus Gate and the Old City and a few minutes more to Herod's Gate. You get a lovely view of Damascus Gate from the Hotel's rooftop terrace. The food is excellent; we had dinner in the hotel the evening we arrived, there was a wide variety of very good quality. Breakfast next morning was of a similar high quality, again with an amazing range. I heard another guest say to a friend "This is our best breakfast place" and I can see why. The staff are friendly and helpful, always keen to help. On the day of our departure we received an email saying our flight had been cancelled; staff did everything they could to help us resolve the situation. The hotel is comfortable and pleasant and tries to be ecofriendly having just installed a more energy efficient hot water system (plenty of hot water). Altogether a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely go again. Alan

Stayed at the hotel as part of a group visit. Very impressed with the personalized attention provided by the staff. The rooms and facilities were functional and clean. Breakfast was buffet with a wide variety. Excellent location close to two gates. Around 15 minutes walk to Al Aqsa doors. Highly recommended.

This HOTEL is in a wonderful location in OCCUPIED East Jerusalem within easy reach of The Holy Shrines in and around the city walls. Opposite Damascus Gate for entrance to OLD CITY good public transport nearby. Good food service fair price .

The buffet and service are amazing. The rooftop has a great night view and you can order drinks and snacks. The hotel is clean and the service wonderful. You can't beat this location near the Old City and access to the Via Dolorosa.

Perfect location, food, hospitality, ambience. Just a pity not allowed to play the nice piano at the corner of the living room. The bed was nice and also provided their own packaging of bath utitilties.

Excellent. Close to the Damascus gate of the old city. Will definitely recommend for anyone visit Al Aqsa.

Room had good size. We had 4 beds that were very comfortable. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom was a bonus. The linen and the towels were white and clean. The towels were changed everyday. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choices - salads, cheese, eggs, juices, good coffee, tea, fruits. Everything that you could eat in the morning was there. The food was fresh and well presented. The hotel and reception are at the first floor. No elevator until there. You need to climb with your luggage up. The windows were keeping the noise out of the room. The mini bar was very small. The closet was very spacious. All the people working in the hotel were very nice and ready to help you any way you needed. The hotel has all the space nicely decorated. The terrace on the roof was very beautiful. We did not try the dinner but I think that matches the quality of breakfast. It cost about 150 NIS/person. The bus terminal is around the corner. For Mount of Olives - bus no 255/275 can be taken from there. You need to purchase an electronic wallet to put on it at least 30 NIS. The card cost 5 NIS and can be purchased from a store near by. You can use it on any means of public transport. We took the train from Ben Gourion until to Yitzhak Navon and it was perfect- 20 minutes ride. If you do not heavy luggage you can take tram 1. From Damascus gate to the hotel there are about 450 m. But now the tram lines are being built in the area and the side walks are a little bit dusty.
