Forte Kochi

We had a great time at the hotel – we stayed nearly a week, in room 215, a nice large and airy room overlooking the pool area, with a great roomy bathroom. The wonderful thing about the hotel is its location, on princess street, and there are a number of good cafes and restaurants within walking distance, plus ***y of the attractions and walking areas are all very local. The pool area is well laid out, and free afternoon tea from 4pm always had some good treats. From when we arrived, the check-in process was smooth handled by Chacko, who gave us a brief tour, and made sure we were settled in our rooms. All the staff were exceptional, from Mathew who looked after us for Breakfast and evening meals, ***** with Sony and Jobika who made sure we had everything we needed. Food was really good, we met the head chef Gejo Joseph, and nothing was to much trouble. Any variations to a menu or a special dish not on the menu, were sorted quickly, a non spice vegetable curry for example, or a cooling glass of Lasse, and Gulab Jamun, which were not on the menu. Jibin was happy to discuss the merits of *** City, and we found everyone spoke English very well. Whilst we were there we also had meals at the other 5* hotels, and the food at Forte Kochi definitely was the best we had in the area. There were normally some events like dancing or local music most evenings, and the music always stopped before 10pm. Finally checked out early by Shalut and on our way back to the UK, they offered a packed breakfast, and made sure we were organised for transport. We love travelling and this is one of the top hotels we have stayed at in terms of people, location and room. Will definitely be back.

The hotel is in prime position in Fort Kochi and within walking distance of a lot of interesting sights. The rooms are spacious and very clean. It was very hot when we were there and the air conditioning in the rooms and restaurant was a welcome relief. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 2 nights originally but booked a further 2 nights later in our holiday as we were so impressed with the place

Delightful small hotel with lovely pool, nice restaurant and well-equipped, spacious rooms. Highly recommended. Centrally located, you can walk to everywhere in Fort Kochi. Aircon is efficient and you feel well looked after by the staff. We had a morning walking tour from the hotel which was excellent.

Forte Kochi is a lovely place to stay! Warm and friendly staff, nice rooms and pool, overall great ambience. And the location is wonderful, pretty much everything in Fort Kochi is walking distance. I went with wife and daughter and we all had a great time. Highly recommend.

Friendly, warm and comfortable stay in Forte Cochi, a hotel in the heart of Cochi. It was very close to the fishernets, close to shops, museums and even to a Katakali perfor***ce place.The charming hotel reminds of the Portugise and the British past and is now Indian, run by most helpful people! I not even had time for a swim in the pool, because i was so busy sightseeing, shopping and having relaxing Ayurveda treatments in the hotel.

Very well maintained high quality hotel. Well trained staff, efficient, polite. Very clean with comfortable furniture. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Decor was heritage appropriate. Wide selection of delicious food.

My wife and I stayed here for a week, and from arriving to departing, it was faultless. The location is perfect, The colonial decor and atmosphere are superb. We were on b&b, which was perfect as the buffet breakfast was superb, especially the alloo bhaji. The pool is a delight most of the time we had it to ourselves. It would be unfair to single out any individual, as the staff from the ***agement down are a first-class team. Nothing is too much trouble to anyone . I would most definitely recommend this hotel it delivers 5* hospitality throughout. ***y thanks to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable. Trevor & Louise

Great location. Big and clean rooms. Very kind staff helping everything. They asked us about our experience during our stay ***y times and tried to make everything better. Nice Indian style breakfast with additional options made our mornings start full. Worth to stay

Very comfortable and charming hotel, well located in the historic center of Cochin, and very quiet. The staff were really professional, attentive and charming. We highly recommend this establishment. We will come back with great pleasure
