"Just ended a pleasant 4-day stay at The Renai. I booked a mini suite but, due to a lock malfunction, I was moved to a larger suite, which was a lovely and unexpected upgrade. The rooms, like the hotel overall, was clean, well maintained and modern. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom functional, clean and adequately stocked with the necessities. Wifi worked well most of the time, but the connection was spotty a couple of times. The buffet breakfast covered a wide range of diets and was sumptuous to get the day going. The buffet lunch was also extensive. Koffee Junction (adjacent to and owned by the hotel) was a nice place for a relaxed meeting with friends. Staff members were uniformly friendly without being intrusive or obsequious. Hotel location was conveniently close to a Metro station and only a short drive from Amrita Hospital and shopping areas. Won't hesitate to stay at The Renai should I return to Kochi."

"Room 117. Bath had peeling enamel, a rusty plug and sealer around the edge that looked dirty. We asked to move. The next room 336, the slip mat in the bath was filthy underneath. I took it to the reception and a clean mat was brought to the room. No channels on the TV worked. We were part of a group and all reported the problem with the TVs. Our tour manager reported this to reception but the problem was never resolved. Seven sun loungers around the pool. We were a group of 36 people ***** with other guests, so nowhere to relax for the majority of guests."

"The location of the hotel was great .. literally 2 min walk to fort kochi. It’s a heritage hotel with lovely views from the large common balcony. Good size rooms with ample storage and lounging area . The best part was the food- made to order special Kerala meals not in menu and customised food as per our taste buds. The chef was very accommodating to cater to our needs. The staff were very helpful and considerate. Only reducing one star as feel the pool could be maintained well as wasn’t sure clean enough to swim for my daughter, other than than great place to stay if in Kochi ."

"We enjoyed a luxurious 2 night stay at Taj Malabar, Kochi. The property is beautiful with an amazing sea view. The welcome experience and traditional dance was special. Probably one of India’s best welcome experience. Mr Safvan assisted us with the check in and it was really smooth. We stayed at the heritage sea view category of room. The rooms have all been recently renovated. The room is tastefully done with all amenities. The heritage wing rooms had a damp/ musty odour which needs to be addressed. The service at the hotel was amazing showcasing the true Taj spirit. Food at the restaurant ‘Pepper’ was great with Mr Alex, Mr Ajith, Mr Surya ensuring we had a great time during our meals. The high tea and the sunset cruise which is a chargeable activity is a must do. Ms Elizabeth George who is the guest relations manager at the property accompanied us during the cruise and truly made it memorable with the history and important landmarks. Mr Prasad the flautist made the cruise enjoyable with his live performance. The property gives you the quiet luxury feel which truly sets it apart. We really enjoyed our stay and it’s the best hotel in Kochi!!"
