Directly located on the beach with views of the Arabian Sea, Cherai Beach Resorts is a tropical paradise with swaying coconut trees, beautiful Kerala backwaters and serene paddy fields. Very poor accomodation compared to others we had in India. The front desk was not so welcoming and even after 2 visits to reception I couldn’t get a new floor mat. No wifi in rooms , only at the restaurant and reception. No safe in room, only in reception. My floor mat was dirty, a light fitting was hanging off the wall, no hot water, very poorly maintained. Wild dogs wandering around and fighting at nite at the resort. Once I contacted my booking agent they rang me and asked if I had issues and then offered a new room which was slightly better. Not recommended.

I visited Cherai Beach resort at the beginning of my first visit to India and it was a great place to start! It's well located between beach and backwaters. The villas are comfortable and immaculately clean. Friendly staff and great food in the restaurant. The gardens are beautifully maintained.

I stayed at Cherai Beach Resort for a Yoga Retreat with Yogaunited and had the most fabulous time! The bungalows are clean and comfortable the staff were absolutely fabulous! The pool area is lovely as is the Ayurvedic Spa, the beach is stunning with the best sunsets I’ve ever seen! This was my second time there and won’t be my last, I loved it!!

Visited for yoga retreat with Judy and Saz from Yoga United. The course was just right for me, not too difficult and encompassed all types of yoga, meditation etc. The superb venue, food and ambience added to the experience - staff so helpful as well. Brilliant sunsets on the beach across the way

I stayed at the resort for 8 nights on a yoga retreat. Firstly my rating is not based on the standard of accommodation or the resort itself, but on the staff what were always kind, friendly and helpful. I have been all over the world on my travels but I have never come across such wonderful hospitality. The resort itself is dated but it kind of gave it an authentic feel. The food was fantastic and catered for our needs. It’s a great location and the beach outside the hotel is kept clean and tidy, I presume by the hotel staff. The spa staff were lovely, again the spa is dated but it didn’t effect the quality of treatments provided. The accommodation could do with updating but the Villa was spacious, and we must remember this is India. The staff alone make this resort worth a visit, don’t be put off by negative reviews because it’s all part of the experience. Yoga United and the staff at the resort made my stay an experience of a lift time. Go with an open mind and you will love every minute.

Fabulous resort for an amazing yoga retreat experience. Thank you Judy, Saz and the wonderful Cherrai Beach Resort team. I was looked after brilliantly. Nothing was too much trouble. Location, comfort, scenery and food all fabulous. Yoga space and retreat just perfect too. This was my second visit - it won’t be my last!

Wonderful location, food excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful. The beach which extends for miles is just across the street and watching the sunsets was so special. I was on th yoga united retreat and it was fabulous. I've booked already for next year.

Super friendly staff, and excellent food. Recommend staying here as so close to wonderful beach. Great location for yoga retreats with access to Ayurveda spa on site. All facilities on site and 10 minutes from town but walking distance for places to eat.

I loved this resort ! When I arrived after a day delay in Dubai I instantly felt relaxed, Everything just seemed to slow down! I was here for a Yoha retreat with Yogaunited and just as Saz did not disappoint! I highly recommend them both for giving me such a wonderful experience not only with the Yoga offerings but to introduce me to this beautiful country. The resort is just charming the rooms are basic but clean and have a simplicity about them they are more than enough! The pool is lovely and massages were amazing and such good value. I couldn't get wifi except for in the reception area but this was fine as it was great to switch off! The food was beautiful with such variety every night! It was great to watch the sunset every evening on the beach just a minutes walk and also catch sunrise on the back waters in the morning! I can't wait to come again Thank you all xx
