Yijia Hotel (Lanzhou Zhangye Road Xiguan Metro Station) ★★★

"The photos are completely misleading and untrustworthy! Just checked in, and there were cookie crumbs or something similar left by the previous guest all over the table. The shower was dirty and tiny; anyone a bit on the heavier side wouldn't even be able to shower comfortably. The sink was also dirty. On the second day, did they just make the bed during cleaning? I ended up getting bumps all over my body. The bath towels weren't even tidied up, and they didn't replace the toothbrushes. Is that what they call cleaning??? The only advantage this place has is its location, nothing else. The price is more expensive than hotels within Beijing's Second Ring Road, and the environment is terrible! I definitely won't be staying here again."

"The hotel's location is excellent, just a few hundred meters from Zhenning Road Night Market and not far from the subway, making dining and getting around very convenient. The entire building belongs to Mercure, which ensures easy access to services. The front desk staff, especially the ladies, were very beautiful and incredibly enthusiastic. The cleaning auntie was also very warm and helpful; she even brought my washed clothes up to my room, which was a really thoughtful touch. Overall, a fantastic travel experience!"

Atour S Hotel Lanzhou Convention Center Riverside ★★★★

"Got a complimentary upgrade to a river-view suite, which was fantastic. The service was also excellent. This was my first time staying at an Atour hotel, and the sky lobby was beautiful. The service quality is on par with Shangri-La hotels. Due to a health issue, I wasn't able to try the breakfast. Right outside the hotel is the famous Dongfang Palace Lanzhou Beef Noodle restaurant; I ate there three times during my three-day stay, trying various Lanzhou specialties."

"Is this the quality you get for a room that costs just over 300 yuan? There were gray liquid spray stains on the sheets, and yellow patches on the pillowcases. The triple room only provided two towels/bath towels; when I asked why, they said the third one was disposable? Is your hotel short of towels/bath towels?"

"Overall, it was fantastic! High floor with great views, especially the stunning mountain scenery. The room was very spacious, though I felt the bathroom was a bit too large, making the proportions a little off. Still, it was very good. The breakfast had a wide variety, and the beef noodles made by the restaurant chef were delicious and unique. The front desk service was excellent; they even gave us local apricot peel tea, which had a unique sweet and sour taste, and upgraded us to a higher floor room. Thumbs up!"
